Almost just put a hole in the wall if I didn’t check my string between throws.
This is ~3 day old string from Kitty, do you guys run into this much? What are your tried and tested strings?

Grab yourself some Throw-Yo Elixirs and you’ll have string for years.

That looks more like a rough edge or something by the bearing that is cutting the string.

I agree with Jace. This is most likely because there is something sharp on the yoyo itself. Ive used kitty XL and kitty Fat for years and they’re very durable. The XLs don’t last very long but both never break.

If the wall at the response area is sharp, you can use some denim or some high-grit sand paper to smooth it over a bit

This makes a lot of sense, initially there was a concave bearing in there but it seized so I had to switch it out for a flat. Could be that the fitment wasn’t as good? Not sure, but definitely right
Sochi string. My gf got me a yoyo from eBay and it came with this string that was a perfect thickness that didn’t change when using for a long time, felt strong but soft as a cloud without feeling bouncy. After ordering as much string here as I could I found out it was Sochi string. It’s such a revolution for me that it’s the only string I’m getting from here on out.
