Bimetal suggestion

Personally I would go with BAE. I like hinemosu but i like BAE more as hinemosu can feel slow. Also, if you want to branch out to yoyo tricks that involve zoning, the extra width on the BAE is going to help. You can do zoning tricks on narrow yoyos of course, it just requires even more practice (in other words, it’s harder lol)

Gdiver7075v2 mentioned, one of the best yoyos ever imo

Appreciate the insight. What is zoning?

I don’t think I looked at that one because it’s out of stock. I do want to try a c3 at some point

What is Takeshi using in this video? Looks like Hinemosu tbh

Zoning is when you do tricks that are outside of normal yoyo trick presentation body areas. Simple examples would be like eli hops under the leg, neck tricks, and those sorts of things. Very popular in competitive yoyoing.

If you’re looking for a more relaxed organic bimetal, I’d recommend stuff like the Perpendiculars (if you’re fine with smaller diameters) and the brass Luna. Elsewise, the HD and the Exias are exceptional performers—especially for ‘zontal—the Domain Expansion is great, but is a bit hard to find, and the Perpetual is fairly capable, but is a bit narrower than other choices

I also had a question. If I wanted a fun undersized yoyo, should I get the MGB or Counter Jet according to everyone’s opinion?

If you like floaty organics, I’d say the G2 AL7 Arbiter X (SS) would be hard to beat. Good float, plays fast, all the power you’d expect from a bimetal and the rounded shape towards the edge gives a nice feel on the catch, much like an organic*. Combine all that with the strict QC standards and gorgeous finishes inherent to G2 and I don’t see how you could do better.
The only issue is that Jake just retired this model so it may be hard to find. Still, I’ve seen them pop up on the BST from time to time.

*Other throws in the Arbiter line share a similar profile, but I’ve only thrown the AL7 X (SS) variant, so I can only comment on the play of that specific model.

Oooo. I’m going to keep my eyes open for a trade.

The Palpitation ES and the Hinemosu looks pretty similar. Has anyone played both and can give a comparison?

Here’s a review for Palpitation ES

For those following who are trying to decide between the Hinemosu and Palpitation ES. From what I can tell is that there is a lot of similarities with the shape and size, but how they maneuver is different. The Hinemosu apparently feels lighter on the string and is a little quicker/more agile. The Palpitation is supposed to feel a little more deliberate/flowy. You all can correct me where I’m wrong, but it seems to me you can’t go wrong with either but they will feel different on the string

I’d say the Es (for the little time I had it) was more agile than the Hinemosu (which I had for an extended period of time)

Did you own the Palp and quickly trade it or were you just borrowing it? I’d be curious to hear if you favored one over the other and why.

I owned the es and the OG palp and decided I liked the OG more, and the Hinemosu was one of my favorites for a while, but my style changed and it was to heavy and sluggish after that.

get the xenon prime yoyo. It has 3 materials in it and features offset’s brand-new prime plastic rim. What this does is it makes the yoyo comfortable and makes it durable for if you slip up and hit the yoyo on the ground. From my personal experience the xenon prime is a game changer!

if you want an organic and angular yoyo that’s also comfortable get a xenon prime if you dont have the fund for the xenon prime reply to my message and i can email you reccomendations for some good and cheap bi-metal yoyos

I got an Outlier 6 for Christmas! This thing is wild. I’m going to use this to branch out and focus on more diverse tricks. I’ve been working on Horizontal this afternoon and I feel like it went from impossible to doable. Surprisingly the extreme width doesn’t bother me and it does not feel like it’s weight. It feels much lighter and is comfortable. I’ve been hit in the elbow messing around with horizontal and it wasn’t painful at all. I feel like if this was a monometal it would have felt much worse with big thick rims. Getting the Outlier yoyo as a gift makes my decision easier. Something around 43mm width makes sense to me for the tech style I do now. Might as well go for both extremes and I can meet in the middle down the road when I see how I develop.
