Not all strings are the same it all goes back to the yo-yo philosophy not all playstyle and preferences are the same
Absolutely agree. I hate 100% poly but people love it. It just isnt my thing lol
I like 50/50,40/60 or and poly core nylon that’s 10/90
Compositional stoichiometry is interesting
How did my review go from a small company to a big known company
It’s about big red
To me putting an extra thick string on a manatee with snow tires is asking for snags. It’s not the string, it’s not the yo-yo. It’s those two together.
Hi!
First, thank you for giving us a try - being on the newer end, our biggest hurdle is exposure and getting others to give us a try (or even know how to find us!).
We appreciate your feedback, and value all feedback from anyone who has had the chance to experience any Big Red strings. As a company, we will continue to reflect, repurpose, and reinvent to fit thrower needs and/or when new technologies, knowledge, or ideas present themselves.
With that in mind, we have a few questions/suggestions to help make your experience with Big Red better. You mentioned enjoying our Red Herring over our Cloud 9 - both are similar makeups, however looking at your specific order, these were two different thicknesses (Red Herring in Medium and Cloud 9 in Thick). You also mentioned that you were using a Manatee with Snow Tires - we would suggest not using the thickest string on that setup, which might be your noted differences in experience between Red Herring and Cloud 9.
Most people who have tried our strings tend to be fans of the medium thickness, as it is pretty good as a universal string for most yoyos/pads/setups - sounds like this might be true for you as well.
We hope you continue to enjoy our strings, and will continue to work hard to earn your business and trust.
Thanks for going BIG with Big Red!
Im sorry, you are correct
I can never judge thickness tbh and it’s always my biggest blunder when buying string as noted i think you’re right i need to have the middle sweet spot than going all out
Life is about learning from experiences
But I will definitely try cloud 9 again when I’m able to purchase another supply run
We all have things that we can improve on - so no worries!
If you’re ever hesitant, please feel free to reach out to us and we will do our best to make a recommendation that makes you happy - we’re not perfect either, but we do know a great deal about our strings - some can end up being a great fit if the playstyle matches too - there’s just so much that goes into throwing these days!
Sounds like medium thickness may put you on your own proverbial “Cloud 9” - that’s our intention at least. Wishing you some great throwing sessions.
Indeed the market and community is constantly evolving to what’s next or what’s innovative or a breakthrough
My family produces stuff toys and it’s indeed about what’s new and what’s the next big thing and what’s the biggest selling inventory item
Extra I will admit plays like a queen on a mongoose
We love it on a G2 Mongoose - same goes for Council or T52/Wraith. Setup plays a factor for sure.
Extra plays amazing on the Clyw dune too with the speed an power it provides it counter acts friction and snag
Yeah snow tires are weird to play an extra thick string with. I would use a different yoyo for such a review. Either way string is very personal preference driven so any review should come with a grain of salt positive or negative.
Indeed my review should be taken lightly everyone’s experience is different
