Beware of yoyobuy2

I purchased a throw from yoyobuy2 about two weeks ago with a major defect I tried fixing it with no luck. I reached out to him about a refund and he said he would not offer a refund. He said I could just give him negative feedback instead.

This is just a warning for other people on the BST. I purchased through G&S so I might and try a dispute, but I’m not sure if that’s going to work.

G&s can probably get you a refund. That’s sort of the point. Sad that you had a bad transaction

If you paid G and S you should have no issues getting a refund :call_me_hand:

Thank goodness for G&S. Get that refund! And thanks for the warning

What was wrong with the yo-yo? Just curious

Was this the Underdog from his July 3 thread? The description only indicated cosmetic damage (“small nicks”). What was wrong with it?

It currently has a stuck Duncan spacer. It’s supposed to have an o ring under the spacer to increase the gap. Currently the gap for the yoyo is half of what it’s supposed to be. I’m in contact with a modder on the forum to help me cut the spacer off. I’ll post an update if this ends up working. I made a thread when I first got it to try and fix it, and this was the last option I had.

Oh that sucks sorry to hear that happened

Obviously I am falling in to this thread kinda late…… but if you are going to try to get a refund, you certainly don’t want to try repairing the yo-yo.

To get a refund you also have to send back the defective product.

Sorry if I missed something, here….

If you contact PayPal, just tell them that you tried to resolve the issue directly, but the seller encouraged you to just leave Negative feedback, which is a very good example of him ‘incriminating’ himself.

If you decide to keep the yo-yo and your modder help doesn’t pan out, just send it to me and I will fix it for you… for nothing, as usual…

Let me know Joe… from Mo

Thanks for the advice on this! I would prefer a fixed version of the throw so I think I’m going to take a chance. If it doesn’t work out I’ll make sure to send you a message!

You might not have much luck with PayPal on this one. It sounds like you bought a yo-yo that you knew was ‘modified’ from the original condition. It also appears that the seller delivered the yo-yo to you. Telling Paypal that you do not like the modification may not be enough to resolve this dispute. The best you can hope for is a return with a refund. You will likely bear the cost of return though.

It’s kind of crazy but the original seller didn’t know anything was wrong with it till I sent him a message. @YoyoGeezer

Sure; just saying that it is not a ‘new’ item.

So you picked up his Underdog? Thats probably worth modding as those are hard to come by, though I don’t know what kind of deal you made and that is not my business. I’m always a little leary of folks who haven’t been around in awhile.
