I think the Horizon 2, Wilderness 7075, Onedropâs DS-61, Yoyofriendâs Peregrine X. The close to 48-52mm width is great.
In terms of speed (most to least): Ds-61, Horizon 2, Peregrine X, Wilderness 7075. Ds-61 also has the smallest diameter, so probably easier to do more technical tricks with.
Last, for stability (most to least): Wilderness 7075, Horizon 2, Peregrine X, DS-61.
Spintime is amazing for all of these. Will update once I get some G2âs in.
Best is so subjective cause I would say some slim but oversized YoYo like the rcs seti or toss out the YoYo rec GOPA or go organic and say fd fluke or the asora or something but thatâs not your jam it sounds.
Also most YoYoâs have long spin today so itâs just what shape do you want and what brand do you like
Iâve only had it for a day, but I see why people were hyping CLYWs Leaf, it is very very nice. Great power, stability and float. Probably my best all around-er now. It would say if could be a one and done, unless of course you MUST finger spin, then it may leave a little want.
OD Thruline is also killer imo, incredibly smooth, great weight and power, a bit on the larger side of diameter, but its is extremely satisfying to play. If you want side effects, the Kamuraiju gets a ton of well deserved love, itâs a killer slightly undersized powerhouse. Top Deck is also a very solid choice
MK1 Exia/ Brass Exia are divine, my BrExia feels like my high end luxury throw, itâs so so good
Shutter goes extremely hard for the money, like wow lol. I get why itâs so popular.
Everything else I have is either obscure to some degree, or definitely not âbestâ performers, but fun.
G2 Loadout is also a great all around throw, though I donât âclickâ with it quite as much.
Motion gets a lot of praise as well, I really hope to pick one up when I can start collecting again, however I just spent my last âfunâ money for the foreseeable future, so maybe Iâll do some trading eventually.
Leaf was very good, A tier yoyo for me. Weirdly enough I sort of see similarities to the peregrine x. both play powerfully and floaty
Did you try the ds61? wonder how the two compare. ds61 is obviously smaller
Shutter was one yoyo I put towards the bottom of my list. was never a fan for some reason
The Wilderness has been mentioned a few times and I would agree that itâs an amazing comp throw and itâs reasonably affordable. W1LD has also exploded onto the scene in the past couple years. It is very wide if youâre used to comp throws of even a couple years ago though.
If youâre tempted by that shape but want something a bit narrower, the Wilder is also killer (and plays a bit faster).
If you want something narrower that prioritises power and stability in particular then Iâd recommend looking at yoyos with the Kagerou/Noir/Klondike/Sago type of profile (these are generally in the 45mm wide range). Of these Iâve played the Noir and Klondike and, while I lean Noir, theyâre both great and Iâve heard good things about the others.
I will say none of those are really very similar to the Hinemosu though. The Mosu is rather at odds with most modern comp yo-yo designs with itâs width and slow play.
I will say the width is super nice! Didnât take me long to get used to it. I have more of an issue with the diameter if the trick is more technical (still very doable, just takes some extra practice)
Build your skills! What you use isnât really importantâŚ.there are so many well made throws available todayâŚ. Just make sure youâre building those skills more than buying throws from bst! I find too many young or newer throwers falling into the hype!
Donât do it guys-develop those skillsâŚ.. practice practice practice!!!The more you develop those skills that are killerâŚyouâll end up throwing YoYo âs that are made for you from Gsquared, Atmos, Dressel Designs, FPM, General Yo, or another boutique YoYo shop! Build your skills! Make small but improved & attainable goals!
