I think the context of this thread is missing a little bit in your reply. We’re not talking about an optimized performance yoyo for a top level player to compete with on stage, doing big risky zoning tricks or seriously impressive zontals.
Just a newer player who wants to learn some basic tutorials.
got my hinemosu today. First thing I did was de-shield it (always a PITA…) took a while. Then soaked and shook it in acetone, dried off the bearing and gave it a throw.
Hard to explain really, it feels lighter than the butter, at the same time it feels like it has some weight to it, its super flowy, and spins forever!
Butter is nice, Ive been enjoying it alot lately, but its this
Butter = Civic type R
Hinemosu = Maserati
It feels alot more refined, its so much fun to play with, its like sex on a string! “Can I say that?” Lol.
Its a little smaller, and narrower, I do notice I require more finess to land things, but it takes multiple strings so nicely (wide gap) and spins for days.
I am curious though about the bearing shape. Its bot concave like the butter, its flat with V flares on either side?
It will be interesting to try the Evo when I get it within a weeks time.
Hinemosu = everything the collapsar was, while dropping a bunch of weight.
Soooooooo good!

Welcome to the Turning Point fan club, you’re now cursed to buy more. Hinemosu is truly an amazing throw, I absolutely love mine.
I had a collapsar last year (got back into throwing briefly, stopped when I was really busy mountaineering / school. Sold it and just kept the butter.
I like this so much better than the collapsar. (Wish I didnt stop throwing, Id be pretty good rn lol)
I managed a few hours this week, learned Diegos easy peasy combo, both endings. Double GT, some flow tricks and two GT mounts.
But back to TP Hinemosu. Incase anybody else googles and stumbles across this thread, it is without question an honerable throw. It is exactly what I was hoping for.
Thank you to every one who chimed in
Ill update everyone with my thoughts on the Evo when it arrives. (Provided I dont bust the bearing when de-shielding it lol)
I like dry bearings, im just weird that way. Ive allways found they are quiet and super smooth. Once in a while you throw it and it is angry and buzzy, then thr next throw its quiet and smooth again, not sure why.
Evo came today. I didnt feel it, very vanilla, its like a bigger slower shutter. I can see flow tricks and combos going well, tech tricks its not so good at.
Coming from playing with mty TP for 5 hours last night, I was like wtf… thats it?
This is only my opinion, and Im a newb, so anyone who doesnt own one, please take it with a grain of salt. I think I need more time with it.
Quock update. ( same thing I posted in another thread Im apart if.
The Evo is starting to grow on me. Even though I de shielded and cleaned with acetone, seems like it just needed a little breaking in.
It does have more power than the butter. I wouldnt say its more stable though, seems more suseptable to twisting to one side or the other.
Its a nice wide powerful throw. Its got its own vibe going on. Does it trump the butter? No… its just different. It does spin faster and longer though, but it is more work to move on the string, not a ton, just a little.
The TP isnt even in the same league, Im in awe everytime I come back to it
For what it’s worth, I am almost universally unimpressed by new throws, then about a week later, I find myself reaching for them more and more. Only the Ace Yo Amusings (1, 2 and Max) and the iQ were great right out of the box. Maybe the Free Solo, too. Give it time, and you might find you really enjoy it for it’s differences.
The Hinemosu is smoother, more responsive to movements and directional changes, sleeps longer, and can hold alot more string in the gap (could also be the bearing, what shape is the Hinemosu bearing?)
Feels nicer in the hand, I dont know how they managed to make such an incredible feeling yoyo.
Butters a great yoyo, the Evo is like the butter with more “guts” but they are not on par with the Hinemosu. If I had tjr cash, Id buy a second Hinemosu as a backup and leave it locked away safe and sound lol
Butter is light and fast, but it doesn’t spin as long or has as much power as the Evo.
The Evo is nice, rounded, balanced, powerful. You can have some fun with combos and flow tricks. I spent more time with it, and I enjoy it for sure.
Hinemosu still feels the best. All of them are great throws though, and It’s fun just grabbing one and playing with it, and enjoying the differences in how it feels when performing tricks.
Evo grew on me, I see myself using it for sure, if I want to speed things up I can use my butter. It’s smooth light an fun.
When I want to go back to the best, the TP all the way.
I’ll leave things there.
Interested to hear others opinions on the Evo when more people own one.
Very interesting subject looks like tp is the best throw i agree with u guys on hinemosu it beats all my duncan throws i played even the gtr it is really special now NOW drum rolls… the ASTer is the best throw it is bigger has a bit more weight 70g but it feels light and it sleeps long just like hinemosu but better cuz the size i prefered i know its expensive but it’s really awesome i love it will not sell hahaha
I hear mix reviews of the evo. Rings are loose or vibes plus if they give a tool thats kinda worried… unless u hit hard on ground but i dont think its thr best throw idk lol
I haven’t heard anything negative about the Shutter Evo, but then I also hear very little about the Shutter Evo at all, whether good or bad. Wonder how sales are. I do seem to recall some people here in the YYE forums saying that YYF’s quality control was unacceptable, especially for the high end throws. At that price point, are people gravitating more towards Japanese yoyos? There definitely seems to an uptick in chatter about user experience with high end Japanese yoyos the last few months.
I wonder too. Maybe they arent watching thr products leave factory not sure they usually have good throws yyf. Yea alot of good throws are japan made and they are awesome
That’s how the evo was for me too. I was initially unimpressed. I was like yeah it’s a good throw but it didn’t blow me away or anything. And then the more and more I played with it, the more it grew on me. Now it’s one of my favorites. It was definitely a slow burn but I’m glad I put in the time to adjust to it.

As someone who used to have some occasional QC issues from yoyofactory I will say it’s gotten better recently (past few years) at least in my experience. I think it mostly just stems from a problem of scale, YYF is producing quantities way past the point of manual QC and probably exclusively relies on factory QC for a majority of their yoyos (I’m sure a handful are hand tested by the YYF team, but there’s only so much you can do). I found it was the worst in their midrange offerings though, never really had any issues with their high end lineup.
