Best cheap metal yoyo for 5A

Could you recommend any good metal yoyos for 40$ or less that are good at 5A? Tried out the Fh aL but it chipped after I unscrewed it and snags frequently.

you can play any yoyo with a counterweight, theres no real reason to buy a new yoyo unless you really want one. the yoyofriends shortcut is a great yoyo in your price range though.

Mostly I am concerned with durability. Is the short cut a yoyo that can withstand a beating?

Unless you are constantly playing over concrete then I wouldn’t worry about durability. Your Yoyo will be fine, your knuckles will be less fine.

Barracuda has been good to me and is great for 5a.

Most modern yoyos can take a beating, 6061 is a very durable material. Unless you damage the bearing posts (which is very difficult to do), damage is primarily cosmetic

I got a magicyoyo desperado when I was first learning 5a. I would definitely recommend it. It’s a little undersized but it’s durable as heck and sometimes you can find it as low as $5-$7usd.
