Do you think that a Yoyojam Journey would be an ok beginner offstring yoyo?
No. The Journey is a 1A yoyo.
Get a Fiesta XX or a Go Big. They are good for beginning and competing and everything in between. These are also some of the more affordable “pro grade” yoyos for off-string. The Shinwoo Griffin Wing is OK, and I feel the Hayabusa is just too small. The Big Yo is fun and all, but I think it’s too big and too slow. I wouldn’t say don’t get one, but don’t get it now.
