I don’t have any pics because I wake up at 6:30, and it’s very dark then at this time of year-- but a good cup of Coffee and the Butterfly pair very well! they both seem somewhat high energy, it’s probably that sound the Butterfly makes. * Chefs Kiss *
wow i look at both the exact opposite lol coffee is a comfort beverage for me and I’m as likely to have it at 9 at night as 5 am. also i feel so relaxed and chill when i butterfly. especially stalls. stalls are some lazy tricks but given i look at both the opposite, the pairing still works for me daily
Yeah, it’s a release from 2020 (Port Charlotte OLC: 01). I really like it if I am in the mood for a strong, peaty dram with a good oloroso finish. So it is perfect for the colder times of the year. You can still find it in a few shops here and there but the prices - like always - went a bit crazy.
Winding down after a hectic but good Thanksgiving weekend visiting family. Got me a feel good drink and a feel good throw
Hope everyone had a happy turkey day!

Working with Harvesters has its benefits

Edit: I realize I posted this the day before St. Pat’s so…
This was one of the last drams I had before I got sober. Port Charlotte is the future of Islay whisky IMO; their innovation and ability to somehow make absolute peat monsters while
simultaneously maintaining complexity and nuanced notes was such a standout in the Islay offerings.
You have hit it perfectly! A few years ago, the combination of good, strong peatsmoke and complex sherry notes was also found in the “big ones” from the island (Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Bowmore etc.) Unfortunately, the quality of their standard sherry whiskies has suffered somewhat over the years in my opinion (RIP Lagavulin 16/DE). But the smaller distilleries still produce some very good stuff. But you have to look a bit and can’t just reach for the shelf. Port Charlotte is definitely well up there!
Southern Pines Malty by Nature and some Chido Trompos.
Pro tip, throw tops first, then enjoy a couple cold ones.
