As a community we can make an ethical-moral choice not to tolerate certain points of view. For me, misogyny is a non-starter. If we give views like that a pass, and scrub away the “dirt” to clean up the reckoning with that, then I’m out, simple as that.
Here seems as good a place as any to leave this, words from Karl Popper:
“in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance.”

Andrew Tate isn’t even necessarily a political topic, he’s just a bad person for a variety of reasons, and A/RT is supporting him, and I think thats important for people to know before purchasing their yoyo.

Update.
I have added back in previously deleted posts to this thread - so it is now un-moderated.
I first want to say that the moderation of this thread happened because both the material and topic was both controversial and complicated and not really appropriate for our forum. We do reserve the right to moderate and I do not appreciate people arguing about the moderation publicly in the thread as it was. In the future if you have a problem just send me a DM directly so I can better look into it. Arguing about ‘censorship’ makes things more complicated - and I can promise you it was not the goal to actively censor to protect a person in this situation. Moderating the internet in a heated moment is not always easy and we make the best call we can - and in the moment given how complicated and uncomfortable the situation was - I still think it was the best judgement at the time given not all the facts were clear. It took me a good week of talking through the situation with others to gain clarity.
With all of that said - I completely understand (and appreciate) the desire to hold people responsible for what is definitely “not a good look”. So the thread is restored - but it will remain locked. If you think it should be otherwise feel free to communicate with me directly but for now it is here for people to find, read, and inform themselves.
If you feel something needs to be added or clarified to the conversation also please feel free to let me know directly via a DM here.
