Any R.P.G. Players on The Forum?

So, I have found a new love for Role playing games. I played Fable 2 and I was hooked. Just got Mass Effect 2 and three, as well as Oblivion (Elder Scrolls FTW!)

Diablo 3 is one of my favorites. I found it veeery addicting. I played the demo at least nine times and I’m planning on getting it for the Xbox 360. On Amazon it’s only 30 dollars. So worth it!

RPGs are the bomb! I’m particularly fond of the Final Fantasy series and Pokemon.

Final Fantasy is a very fun series! I got so stressed on Pokemon on platinum. I got to the end and I can’t beat the final boss!

I get to that point in almost every Pokemon game. The trick is to not make a serious run at beating the elite four the first couple of times. Go as far as you can without using any potions or revives and hoard cash. Between every defeat, spend all your money on potions etc. Remember, while you’re doing this, your mon are gaining quite a bit of exp. Just keep going until you can cream the Elite Four easily enough and then blow all your potions and revives in one go to beat the Champion.

Basically, it’s just grinding and resource hoarding.

Paper mario count? I love paper mario! Amd pokemon.

The only bits of Oblivion that worked for me were Patrick Stewart, my bad*** red eyed horse, the return of Umbra and the Ayleid ruins which were beautiful. Now Morrowind, that is an RPG. Levitation, Umbra, the underworks of Vivec, the shops and guilds of Ald’ruhn… oh boy the list goes on. Magical.

Morrowind is definitely better than Oblivion. That said, even the worst Elder Scrolls game is still better than most of the junk that comes out.

If only I could thank/agree more than once… The hours I’ve spent simply wandering the Morrowind world, taking trashy little quests, just for the darn joy of the game. Or sat basking in my Vianden castle exhibition rooms. So much joy.

I’ve always found the side quests in the Elder Scrolls series to be a lot more fun than the main quests (excluding, of course, those fetch quests).

Oh come now, who doesn’t love collecting mushrooms

Actually, I take that back. Escort missions are the worst. Not only do I need to go to some totally random remote location to find someone, I then have to basically meat shield for them while they whinge and whine all the way back to town.

When I’m on an airplane or in the car, paper Mario is my game!

Some of my current favorites include the new Tomb Raider, The Witcher 2, and Batman Arkham Asylum (Cant get into Arkham City for some reason). Also, Elder Scrolls is FPA, not RPG.

Also, with Skyrim, I never really got into it. Played it for like 7 hours, then got bored with it. Got a new computer and modded it and played it for another 4 or so. Haven’t played the game in months, and don’t really care to. I really don’t care to do the same fetch quest 20 times.

I’m more of a quality over quantity kind of person. I guess this is why I like Asylum better than City. City just tried to cram too much into one game, but Asylum did less, much better.

I used to LOVE Pokemon, it was my main hobby before yoyo. I played all of the generations up to B+W. My favorite game was Diamond.

I usually found the Elite Four and champion pretty easy to beat. My strategy was to get three pokemon who’s types complimented each other, so I was strong against all types. These core three would become super strong, so by the time I reached the Elite Four, the were a few levels ahead of the Elite Four’s pokemon. I also would save all my revives and other valuable items until I reached the Four.

:-X That was why I stopped playing platinum! I couldn’t beat the fire part of the elite 4

Fallout3 has always been my favorite.

I’m an old school guy. The old ff games, dragon quest, the older shin megama games like nocturne. They really don’t make games like these anymore:(

I play skyrim, pokemon, final fantasy, borderlands 2, and a bit of legend of zelda.

Elder’s Scrolls is totally an RPG series. You have your classes/skills, quests, and leveling. That’s pretty much the foundation that makes an RPG. It doesn’t have to be turned based to be considered an RPG.

I’m currently playing Persona 3 FES.

Wow, I entirely forgot about the Legened of Zelda! Currently palying a link between worlds. Probably my favorite game from legend of Zelda
