Done. I just whipped it up quick so its not that great but I hope it helps.
What do you do when your yoyo/axle strips?
how do you do a splash anodize?
can you just visit a yoyo company to watch production/ take a tour?
how do you make yoyos?
how do yoyo shapes effect how the yoyo plays? E.G. V-shape vs H-shape
I’ll get on the 1st one and see what I can find out about the last 1 but as I mentioned earlier I have no idea how to anodize.
ok thats fine
Thanks I’m pretty busy this week with drivers training but I’ll get it done sometime.

How Do Yoyo Shapes Effect How The Yoyo plays?

And each of those are worthy of an individual topic. In fact, if you look here you might just find some useful info.
A couple of comments here…
- The answer above assumes that you’ve stripped the threads on the axle rather than the threads in the shell. If that’s the case you can usually find a replacement screw at the local hardware store since most yoyos use a stock screw item for the axle.
- If on the other hand you strip the threads in the shell your only option is to have it retapped by a knowledgeable person or replace the yoyo. As axles are steel screws, you’re more likely to strip the threads in the shell in any event.
4Yea stripping the threads in the shell is a possibility. but the question was “What to do if I stripped the Axle” So I just left that part out. But I think I’ll go add it.
Bump.
Sorry I havn’t been updating this thread any other questions?
“Can I start with a tiny yoyo? A cheap metal yoyo is still more pro than plastic, right?”
A few words about the difference btw butterfly vs classic/imperial shapes? (I didn’t know the difference back when I was a little kid, and gave up on yoyoing when I couldn’t get my butterfly to do any looping tricks.)
Ok I’ll get that up soon.
Well I typed up my answer but it wont let me add it to the OP because its too long. I get an error mesage that says “The message exceeds the maximm length 20000 Characters”
So it looks like I wont be able to edit anymore questions into the OP so I’ll have to post them in replies.
So here’s my answer to your question
Can I start with a tiny yoyo? A cheap metal yoyo is still more pro than plastic, right?
Starting with a small metal yoyo is just fine as long as you can get the bind return down quickly. However there are some disadvantages to it for example you have to learn bind return right away but if your ok with doing that its not a problem. The other thing though depends on how small of a yoyo your using. Example. If you started with a YYF Popstar you might have trouble landing tricks like trapeze because the yoyo is not very wide so catching it on the string will be difficult.
So in my opinion it would be easier to start with a Protostar or Northstar instead of a Popstar because the Northstar is a lot wider so catching it on the string would be much easier.
Hope that helps if you want me to add anything more just let me know
I’ll add a seperate question on butterfly and imperial shapes
Whats the Difference Between Butterfly and Imperial shapes?
Butterfly’s
Butterfly shapes are designed for longer string tricks and more technical combo’s because the wider profile makes it easier to land on the string.
Imperial’s
imperial shapes are designed more for looping tricks because they are much narrower so the respond better.
What other questions do you guys think need answering?
There are so many bearing topics going around these days and half of them could be solved if people read this thread.
So what question should I cover next?
And I just saw another bearing topic pop up.
Doe’s anyone read this thread? LOL
But, But… I wanna know nOw! I don’t want to have to search through the 500 topics that have the answer to the question I have.
Very true. But still…
Read this thread and you will be filled with yoyo knowledge dun dun dun…
