Android app

What happened to the app? I installed it about a month ago when I signrd up. I just got a new phone and now it’s gone. I can’t find it in the playstore anymore either. Itd be cool to get the app so i can side load it.

most people just add thw site to their home screen from chrome, it ends up working 98% as well

I didnt even know there was an app, I tried looking for one too

I don’t think there’s a proper app, but it does function as a web app if you add it to your home screen from your browser

Weird. I have the app and if I click “app details in store” it cannot find the app in the store…but I have it on my phone.

We talking about the discourse app?

I was referring to this one.

I wasn’t aware there was a full blown yye app I’ve just used the discourse app and linked it to the forums but I’m on iOS so maybe someone made something neat that’s long been unsupported and needs an update.

Discord is different from the forums. Not necessary but if you want to chat in real time with some folks it might be fun to get on an join some community servers

Looks pretty much the same as mine, and mine is just the web app. Not a proper app store app

The way web apps work its functionally the same as if it were a standalone app though. Modern mobile web apps are getting mad strong with notification support and things like that

will also add to what Brandon said by saying discord is in wide use. pretty much whatever you can think of, there’s a discord server for that. access to discord servers are by invite, but most public type servers are easy to get invite codes to

If anyone is curious, you can use YYE-F as a full blown PWA app on iOS

navigate to the site in Safari → Clicking “Share” → Save to Home Screen

I believe definitely* Android has a similar option, but I don’t currently have android, so I am, unfortunately, unable to guide you; google is your friend in this regard

There is Discord which is a live chat kind of thing, and Discourse which is used to make forums like these into “web apps” that gives them a better feel and little more structure than just browsing in your chosen web client
