Fixed axle 15
Yeah I’ve been making a crap load of string for this. Most are experimental strings.
I’ve spent the past few days accumulating links to fixed axle tricks so I have lots of resources. I received my Eh a couple of days ago and I went back to some of the simple tricks like hop the fence and pop the clutch. Still fun! But it’s clear I’m going to have to seriously work to perfect my throw. It’s like taking off the training wheels and realizing I’m still pretty wobbly. Here goes nothing!
I’ve found since I started my fixed axle journey about a month and a half ago that my “perfect throw” with a ball bearing yoyo wasn’t so great without perfect weight distribution and ball bearing spin assist.
I am trying to figure out how some of the fella’s can keep their fixed axles sleeping so long.

I haven’t played a bearing yoyo in over a month! When I demolished my offstring yoyo I was put off to be another one. It was broken so bad like 1/3 of it broke off and left this pac-man shaped object. ;D
Exactly. Metal, bearing yoyos really spoiled me and I can see that now. So honestly, and this might sound like a step backwards, I’m planning to start the year off with beginner tricks, and I want to master them, not just hit them a few times. So it won’t be a step back, because, after three years of goofing around with yoyos, this will be the first time I actually learn how to throw. My goal is, by this time next year, I will have a whole new level of confidence and skill.

Yes! Thats what I’ve done since about march… I can land a kickflip suicide now about 70% of the time and have gotten really good with show tricks. Working on a kickflip/spin suicide now.
Also can do Matrix and Kwijibo on fixies.
This year will be great fellas. Looking forward to it.
Haven’t touched a bearing yoyo in about 3-4 weeks, but the “journey” starts tomorrow.

Wasn’t really sure if there was already lingo in place for this.
This is a very good question. I’ve been able to pull off Split the Atom, but only because I can do the movements extremely smoothly to the point that it only takes a few seconds. I’d love to hear what people have to say about keeping the yoyo going for longer, especially when we see some videos of ED doing Master level string tricks on fixie. Like Whoa.

I expect success from all of you giving up bearing yoyo’s and playing only fixed axles during 2015.
As for me I plan to spent some time each day working to improve my skills with both fixed axles and bearing axles, be it ever so slow.
I agree with Crossfire503 when he wrote: “I’d love to hear what people have to say about keeping the yoyo going for longer.”
I think the trick is to throw hard, play smoothly and have a thinner string.
