Hey this is my first post and it happens to be an idea ive been using for a while now and have had absolutely no problems with.
The only thing required is a Yo-Yo with Spacers (i.e. YYF Starlite, or a Duncan like the Metal Drifter, Orb, and Pulse)
If You’re Choosing to try this mod, remember, it is at your own risk. Please Throw Carefully!
What I’ve been doing for weeks is after de-shielding my bearings http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa446/mau5kateer441/Yo-Yo%20Mods/UncappedCBCCenterTracBearing.jpg (for cleaning See : How to Clean Your YoYo Bearing - Yo-Yo Mods and Maintenance - YoYoExpert) I take out my Spacers http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa446/mau5kateer441/Yo-Yo%20Mods/YYFStarliteSpacerRemoved.jpg and I place the bearing shield in the recess http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa446/mau5kateer441/Yo-Yo%20Mods/BearingShieldInsideRecessYYFStarLite.jpg on both sides before replacing the spacers back in the yo-yo and putting it back together ( This trick very much helped with aligning the arrows on the YoYoFactory StarLite http://i1198.photobucket.com/albums/aa446/mau5kateer441/Yo-Yo%20Mods/FinallyAlligns.jpg , which if the yoyo is assembled the normal way it is generally too loose when the arrows are aligned and I personally feel generates an unstable vibration when throwing)
I Hope This helps, it helped my YoYoFactory StarLite have just a little wider gap and made my Duncan Pulse (with a Duncan Orb bearing - seems to be faster) entirely unresponsive. very neat.
