8The 8French 8Riviera

I’ve been back and decompressing from vacationing in France with my girlfriend. We took three weeks to explore all over France; from Paris to Bordeaux to St Raphael. I only took one Duncan butterfly AL, the 23’ model, and after maybe a hundred walk the dogs on castle floors and historic grounds I managed to strip the axle threads into oblivion and the yo-yo halves wouldn’t hold together anymore. After a few days I managed to find a DV888 hidden under a pile of toys at a historic toy store in Avignon. Getting used to the DV was a challenge at first but I removed one pad and it instantly became my favorite. Here’s a video I made with the DV888 on some of the final days of our trip.

I feel like the threading in the 23’ butterfly AL is pretty weak but the axle from the XT threads through just fine and doesn’t effect play. It sounds cooler and since the halves are held on from the outside it hopefully will handle the constant abuse it receives better.
