I think your initial thought is correct. It’s going to click one day and I have to believe its soon. You are setting a pace for the rest of us. If you give up the future of 2a could be lost.

You’re right! There are a ton of kids posting 2a vids on discord and I think 2a is actually on its way up in terms of awareness and interest in the style. Thanks in part to Evan Nagao championing it bc he has such high visibility and is representing 2a. Also 2a is like super hard and can be frustrating ime thus far and youre a beast like this has been a lot harder for me to learn than 1a bc you just can’t be sloppy at all. I’m stoked that I’m starting to lock in my best loops with my good hand and some alternating but this has taken me much longer than I would have thought. Anyways keep chugging, you’re an inspiration.

I bought these “modded” Raiders and I never really got them working right either. To be fair I didn’t try too hard. I also just liked their look. The best part is they motivated me to get these cool Yomega stands.

I just got a red raider and was considering looking into doing a mod. Ive never done a mod before though so i may not lol i have loop 720s coming in the mail somewhat soon from what ive seen they should be good for me to learn.
The something lp yoyos are also on my list of future additions to my collection. I pribably need to slow my roll on yoyo acquisitions though lol

Hah! Nice! 720 is good for looping of all levels. I was okay with the stock raider w cotton string for loooping but I only tried my buddy’s for a second and his string was too long so idk how I would like it long term. Others have had issues w that one but 720 is fire and I’m still doing basic loops so I have mine with the default set up (two red spacers I think) it’s pretty responsive but still sleeps and I need it pretty responsive bc I kinda suck still and welcome to the loop thread!

Had an awesome sesh tonight with the Hornets. I’m focusing on stripping back two handing to small numbers of reps, mostly four to a side, and making sure they’re clean.

Excellent call on four rep sets. Once I get the yoyo set at the 11:00/1:00 lean I can roll for a while but it is getting there that that takes me some loops. Plus the extra left handed catches don’t hurt. My right arm is taking a sabbatical so I’ll get extra lefty practice for a while.

The Imperials are playing awesome today. Smooth like butter. I had to take a video. Must be the strings have broken in the perfect amount or the weather or something? I have them setup with the axles double wrapped in OTS Slim.

Really nice Keith. I don’t know why I don’t loop my Imperials more. I always throw my Hornets when I’m looping Duncan’s.

I am so glad you posted this Keith. I have been having a blast looping my Imperial. Once again I don’t even try the basics to make a yoyo throw better. I ended up triple looped with One Drop bulk string. My right arm still doesn’t work so I’m throwing lefty only and noticing some real improvement.

Best setup I’ve found for the good ole imperial is yye bulk poly. It’s course snd catches just right don’t even need to double loop it. I brought mine to the pool with the kids to loop on breaks.

Impressive. I can loop all day with one hand snd stronger on my right than my left but I’m bad at doing both. Awesome progress.
