I understand how you feel, but YYE could not accomplish assigning us a number for getting there âfirst.â The countdown ended at the exact same time for all of us, so there was no real âfirstâ in my opinion. We all were there at the same time trying to check out. The internet stuff failed us on this one, and I think we also created the chaos to begin with. Iâm glad you have no hard feelings and such. I donât think an apology from YYE was necessary though, as we all know what happened, and thanks to a bunch of us logging on from different sources trying to get something that we donât even know what it is exactly, they may not offer something like this to us again. I think we owe YYE an apology instead. Iâm sure they presumed each of us would be online from one computer, using one browser with YYE open in one browser windowâŚand it didnât happen. People were online using all of the above and cellphones and tablets too. They have no crystal ball, so who knew? There is no possible way to ensure it does not happen againâŚjust impossible. I think weâll all be laughing at ourselves soon.
Andre is a really really good guy. He didnât have to apologize at all, for something that was for the most part out of his control.
I too, would like to apologize as some of the things I said on this forum last night were just unacceptable. I did not display my character well and I became frustrated and lashed out. That was wrong. I apologize to YoYoExpert and the forum community for this.
YYE is a great place, and I will continue to shop here. I bought my first yoyo here, every purchase since then has been wonderful. Really great site here guys, weâre lucky. Thank you Andre.
Not for me. Most people donât have to work the day after Thanksgiving, and most donât have to go to school, and I would have been up anyway, so it was cool for me. I was in the comfort of my own home, lying in bed actually, clicking on a keyboardâŚnice and warm and comfy. I feel bad for the people who woke up at 4am, stood in line at some store, got past the stampede and maybe got some dealâŚmaybe not. Iâd say it was a blast doing it online! I think it was fun, and I think they should do it again too.
I live in Los Angeles, so we are 3 hours behind from the time in yoyoexpert. So I finally got what I wanted from yoyo expert at about 11pm which is 2am over there at yoyoexpert. But after I had to go shopping at the mall and target for black Friday and it was not pretty. Itwas a rampage. Man was it ridiculous. So ya I had to do both.
I had to go to school an hour later because thanksgiving isnât really one of the main celebrations in the UK. Btw I actually found the whole thing pretty fun.
Stop the hate! If you didnât get one, too bad, if you got one then good. Yoyoexpert already explained before the sale started that this will happen. I donât think they should obligated to apologize for what has happened. All that down talk about yoyoexpert, bet youâd still buy from them cuzz they the best around no matte what.
I agree. Andre is certainly a class act and I think everyone appreciates his apology and the info about what happened. But you all deserve an apology/explanation â I donât understand all the people saying it was unnecessary. The countdowns are posted, tweeted, facebooked and hyped and the marketing succeeds beyond expectations. YYE should and did accept some responsibility for a situation they created. Donât get me wrong â YYE is great and will have my business for years to come â but Andre apologized because he values and respects his customers, and you should all value yourselves enough to know when you deserve an apology or at least an explanation of something that got lots of people excited, but ended up frustrating many.
I do appreciate the apology and explanation! Thanks, Andre.
I have a questionâŚ
Last night, when I got my box, it said checkout failed, but I did get an email conformation. Weird, but I thought since I got the email I was fine. Today I got a follow up email today with my tracking information. But when I try and track it, it gives me this error message.
âDelivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office.â
Iâve never encountered this issue before, has anyone else?
so i ordered a mystery bag and everything is all good except i havent recieved an email confirmation from yoyoexpert but on my recent purchases its show my bag their purchased
Off topic, but I got his autograph at Ohio States and he seemed like a really cool guy! He has a neat cell phone! I wouldâve talked to him but I was too scared.
I have no issue with the countdown. I would not want popular new releases to show up on the site without knowing precisely the moment I am able to buy. I hope they never get rid of the countdown. Further, reading the apology, he apologized for something he could not have prevented anyway. We created the chaos. Period. He could beef things up again next year, and a thousand people could be waiting to spam the system all over again. If we acted differently, not selfish, trying to get all we can, spamming the system, it would not have crashed in the first place. Also, even if the server was up the entire time (we had not spammed the system), no guarantee you would end up with anything anyway, because, as stated, there was âluckâ involved. For those who spent hours waiting, that was your choice, and you could have given up at any time if it was such a horrible experience for you, but you did not. Not that horrible was it? Boo hoo, clicked on a keyboard for a few hours :'(. All the reasonable people are no longer bent out of shape about not getting toys at the after Thanksgiving sale. Again, no apology necessary.
