Every time there’s a mystery box, I always assume that next year will be the year that people finally understand what they are subjecting themselves to.

OK, here is my story.
Im watching the clock countdown, when it gets to 0, it freezes. I was like, oh crap. So I started refreshing and it brought me to the main yoyoexpert page. I clicked shop, nothing happened. So I go on this forums and go to this topic. Same thing is happening. Everyone cant do it. Now I looked down and I saw that about 650 people were on the forums. That means they posted something saying they cant get in, when they finished that, they go to click on the shop. Nothing happened.
About an hour later,(Which went by really fast) I clicked on the shop and it brought me to the Yoyo Factory page. I clicked on the Mystery Box and I got this weird code. I refreshed, nothing happened. Then the website went out for me. I got back on and tried again and again.
About 30 minutes later I got something going. I clicked on it and it took about 3-5 minutes to load each step. I clicked on the box. When I got to the complete your order part. It took a long time to load. Then when it finished it was out of stock… My Brother said I was a minute late. But he said the bag was in stock, so I said what the heck? Might as well. The bag part went by really fast, taking about 30 minutes each step. So I finished and I got one YAY. And my Dad told me if you get one call me. Right when I got it, I told him. Lol, he said that he got one too. ;D

I can speak as someone who works in software development (on a traffic-sensitive product) that it’s easier said than done. I totally agree that a queue would have smoothed it all out, but it’s not like there’s a checkbox for YYE’s shopping cart provider that says “check here to enable queueing system.” If they don’t have that built into their code base, that’s the end of the story. I fully believe that YYE tried their best, even if the system came up short.
Has nobody else ever tried their best in their life and still failed? I can’t even count the number of times that’s happened to me. Pretty hard to fault someone else for it.
You should be. It’s honestly not their fault, nor is it yoyofactory’s. Look at the apology in the blog section.

I came into this whole box thing expecting not to get one. I didn’t get one. I’m not crying about it. I realized that there was a massive amount of people trying to get something with very limited stock, and chances were, I wasn’t going to get one.
I’ll just spend that $50 on something else on the site. YYE is still a massive positive force in the yoyo community and putting them down because you didn’t get a good deal is asinine.

How long until those that purchased 2 “for a friend” start posting them up on the BST? I ain’t believing the “friend” story for a second.
Oh man. I’m glad I didn’t go for one of these. I knew there was going to be some kind of hell to go through to get one. I did find it entertaining to sit back and watch this thread explode 
Not trying to start an argument, but I would like to point out you yourself got two mystery boxes.
Yea, any problem with that? You had the option to get two as well. Not anybody elses fault that you didn’t utilize this option.

Hey, I went for a box, didn’t get one, was lucky enough to get a bag.
If you didnt get either, try looking at it like this:
You now have 85 dollars to spend towards something else. Tons of online yoyo stores are having crazy sales right now, that 85 dollars can go a long way. If you were really set on getting a box/bag, and will accept no other yoyo substitute, you could even go and buy ~80 things on this list100 Things you can buy for a Dollar.
If you got a mystery box after 12 do you also have the %10 discount
I’m sorry I’m just here feeding off this thread… it’s almost kind of funny to me… but guys seriously there have been people camping outside of stores for hours in cold and whatnot to get their good deals, while you guys are waiting probably half the time they did, in the warmth and safety of your homes… can’t you just be thankful YYE and YYF are doing stuff like this? and I just read about the golden boxes, it’s insane…

Good point. I spent $55 (after discount) elsewhere and got 2 yoyo’s plus some string and a bearing. And I actually KNOW what I will be getting.
can’t w8 to see a unboxing and see a supernova or maybe even a champion collection wave 2 in the box lol
To be perfectly honest the whole countdown thing on this site sucks. A release date is announced then beaten to death on the threads. So once everyone is massed at the gates you get treated to watching you chance slip away.
Not cool. I wasn’t interested in bags or boxes but feel bad for ya’ll who were.
I’m really excited to find out what’s in the golden box! (whoever gets it better post a video!!!)
