Darnell got a few. He didnât get Chrisâs but he got Sebbyâs. (Sebby was standing very close to the front of the stage so itâs hard to see his string on camera. The lighting was in the back of the stage).
HUUUUGE thanks to everyone who came out, supported, sponsored, volunteered, competed, and made the first Ohio State Contest a HUGE success!!
Weâre going to have to look at a larger venue for next year. Yoinks!
Weâre already making notes of what needs to be improved for next yearâŚobviously the lighting was a bit dark (itâs a rock and roll venue, and I had taken it for granted that the lights COULD be brighterâŚthey turned them up all the way and it was still pretty dark), and I should have posted a schedule of the days eventsâŚa few little details that could have helped the event run smoother.
Please drop me a line at steve@clevelandyoyoclub.com with any suggestions for next years event. We had well over 200 attendees this year, and just a little over 50 competitors, so I think weâre off to a decent start.
Also, for anyone who is interested, Iâll be hosting a workshop at Worlds on how to organize and run a yo-yo event. Hope to see plenty of people there!
