Haha I like my Surge to be honest. The gap width only gets in the way if I’m being sloppy. Could you compare the Replay Pro and the Surge objectively by play? you compared the speedaholic to it well, but saying that the Surge is “generally terrible” doesn’t give me much to go off of.
tried this out again and still don’t really like it. I recently got a diffusion 2 and I don’t really like that either. Guess I don’t really like plastics I suppose. Feels like a lot of the weight is in the center? Maybe? Kinda non floaty I guess? I don’t know. Not really familiar with many throws.
I do not have a Surge so I can not comment and I am not fond of the Replay. I do have a Speedaholic and I find it to be more comfortable in my hand. What I like even better than both the Speedaholic and the Replay is the Diffusion.
I still throw my Replay every day. I guess that’s what they say about preferences. I like an inexpensive plastic like the Replay, when it doesn’t feel flimsy. I like them solid, stable and long spinning like this one. That’s always been my preference overall.
The Replay is definitely a bang for the buck kind of yoyo. Plays amazingly, comes with a string centering bearing, minimal vibe (after all it is molded plastic) and actually quite stable. The Replay is what should be well stocked in these big box stores, sitting right next to the Velocities I’ve seen. They could easily sell them as they are or stock them with both slim and standard bearing for both newbies and advanced players alike.
Ive come to the conclusion that i do not like plastic yoyos. Deff a nice piece at such a low price though. I’m tempted to just get one regardless.

Yea, got them in Prague first. Probably compensation for not getting any of previous runs(summer collection are first Replay Pro available in Europe).
Question to anybody who also removed caps:
Does your Replay also has this mess of plastic on one half of yo-yo?
I bought a blue one and a green one, YYF had them available about a month ago at BAC. Decided to swap the halves to make it 2-tone, looks really good under the sun!
Have not removed the caps on mine and not really planning on it, so not sure what it’s like underneath on mine.
Yeah, they’re all like that. I believe they capped off the bolt/nut once they were tested to keep them from moving around and to ensure you always assemble it that same way.
I have swapped the bolt out on a couple returns that were damaged (please do not attempt to unscrew a bolt with pliers…) Just pushed the bolt through that layer and it popped right out. It didn’t seem to cause any problems once reassembled, but I suppose it is technically damaging the yo-yo so I wouldn’t really advise it.
