I think he must have some grudge against yoyofactory to be making all of this hubbub. Either that or, because he’s one of the people who actually own the obscure muffin top, he feels he has to defend it.

There is a lot of similarities… and I think they’re so similar Icthus can’t believe the design was original… and neither can I.
YYF needs to defend themselves, since they are not it makes them look worse when they won’t say “The Design wasn’t stolen or Copied”. I t makes it look so much worse for them.
YYF doesn’t need to defend themselves because they’ve done nothing wrong.
It’d not a direct copy at all. The replay is plastic and most likely plays a heck of a lot differently (and better). Sure they look similar, but so do other yoyos on the market today.
If they didn’t do anything wrong why doesn’t Ben just say that then? Why, doesn’t HE tells us its an original Desighn and not Stolen or copied?
How about this, Icthus can, at his leisure open a new public thread of apologies, or he doesn’t w/e I don’t care but someone desperately needs to destroy this thread it is ridiculous and unproductive, all that comes from it save a handful of posts are regurgitated garbage and accusations being thrown here and there, this is a discussion forum, not a whipping post. How pathetic that we can’t all discuss a topic without acting like neanderthals. To be completely honest this thread makes me want to puke, knowing that I generally care what some of you have to say. -.-

He could just say something like it is unfortunate that their design was so close to the Muffin Top, but the replay was made with no basis on the Muffin Top, and the whole thing was accidental?
Agreed. The monotony of this thread is getting ridiculous. At this point in time we all know how everyone feels, so please, cut the crap already!
I still can’t believe anyone could just suddenly think up such a unique shape, but I would buy replay, it sounds pretty nice to me. I mean thats it’s the company’s problem, not ours. So lets just forget it and let the companies solve it them self.
If it never leads to a conclution, then who cares! If it does lead to some conclution like if the replay get canceled or something. Still, who cares! It’s nothing like a huge thing that will change our lives forever.

Unfortunately there are only so many shapes and so many ways to make a yo-yo out there.
The Replay from what I could understand is built specifically to be made fast and cheap.
It was constructed to mold fast and easily accept weight rings and position those weight rings so as to give good rim weight. This general shape happened for them due to what they were trying to accomplish in design and cost effectiveness.
These forums are for positive discussion of product and not to criticize manufacturers publicly - that is better handled personally through email.
