Yuuki Stuck

Sup y’all, time long poster first post timer.

The terrible but beautiful Yukki Slack has me scratching my head. I feel like I’m missing nuance. I probably should have added a good attempt to this video but let’s see what we can get done here! Thank you for watching :sparkling_heart:

Such a classic. Haven’t done it in a while, but it kind of looks like you might want to undercut the slack with your throw hand just a little closer to your non throw hand.

Try making the pinch with your NTH much closer to the yoyo. If the string segment that you’re spinning around is shorter, the spin will be smoother and the slack will open up more.

Another tips that’s a bit subtle: keep your throw hand closer to your body as you are spinning the slack with your NTH. This will keep the slack open and help stop it from winding around the gap of the yoyo.

Ok so stop it, don’t wait for it to drop? That makes sense I’ll give that a go!

See how Sebastian opens up his Throw hand on the return, one of those nuances.

Maybe closer?

Nice. You will get there big dog.

it’s “yuuki” btw! you’re really close. it looks like you’re trying to catch the loop too soon in that one direction you’re stuck on. i think you’re trying to catch it on the way up, but you should let the loop continue to wrap around your nonthrowhand and hook it with your throwhand index after it comes around. if you watch the yoyonation tut above, you’ll notice he says that the yoyo should rotate around your nonthrowhand twice (at 0:50)

it looks like, out of the double (second rotation), you’re missing this string.

Absolutely flubbed the spelling. Embarrassing but learning moment haha
