Takeshi Bounce (and variations) Trick Help

Hi everyone!

Alright, so this trick has been giving me grief for the past week now. No matter what I do, I cannot figure out how to catch the second slack! At this point it feels like I’m doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.

Unfortunately, I’m not really sure what this trick is called so I can’t exactly search for a different video in hopes it’ll provide a new technique. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it’s very similar to Takeshi Bounce if you know that one but with an extra slack movement. takeshi bounce may help you get a better understanding of the movements required

This tutorial just dropped a few days ago for Takeshi Bounce, I found it very helpful

hope it helps! also i would say the biggest factors in these tricks is a slight amount of tension before the release, which will give the slack a bit more spring when released, and timing the release of the slack will together make the slack whip around like it needs to

@Splizacular @Ironical_Monocle1 Have any snazzy tips for getting the yoyo to land in the slack after dismounting? I can get the slack loop in Takeshi Bounce to form pretty consistently, but I’m always off when I dismount and try to catch it in the loop.

for reference, 1:22 is the part I’m referring to.

what helped me the most was focusing on rolling it kinda closer to your nth finger than it might intuitively feel like. otherwise it rolls too low and swings under the slack loop. like don’t let the yoyo pull a bunch of string with it on the way around your finger. it’s a close swing around the nth finger if that makes sense. if that doesn’t help we can keep troubleshooting but my money is on that

I would follow @Splizacular’s advice, I’ve had minimal success with this trick, I think it was on TAW a year ago or something and I managed to catch a successful landing of it once or twice…
