Yoyos and Bearings

I just received my metal replay and a shu-ta, so I thought of swapping out the bearings.

Tried to swap a Konkave Bearing and Center Trac Bearing into both the metal replay and shu-ta.

Had a hard time fitting the bearings into the yoyo and when i tried to screw the yoyo back it made squeaking sounds on both yoyos. Afraid i would spoil the threads in the yoyo i gave up.

Would like to ask, does the two bearings i listed below fit into the metal reply and shu-ta?

Both of those yoyos use C sized bearings (the industry standard), so yes, they can be swapped with the ones you have.

The issue is that a lot of Yoyofactory yoyos have notoriously tight bearing seats (the bit the bearing slots onto), so it can be nightmare getting bearings on and off.

The squeaking sound is probably the sound of the tight bearing seat screwing into the other side of the bearing. I have a couple of yoyos that do this, including my Shutter, but it’s never caused any damage or major problems.

Alright, thank you!

Will give it another try later on.

If you have a tight bearing seat then the trick is to put a drop of lube onto it before tightening.
Should screw together nice and smooth.

That actually makes so much sense, why didn’t I think about this earlier. I used to sand off the bearing seat a bit on my YYF so that I can change the bearing more easily, but that is risky.

The shuta is US made so really shouldnt have tight posts

But apparently it does…

is it the 7075 that makes it any special
