I’m really interested in knowing how the StarGeyser is playing!
And anyone tried opening their new e=mc^2? That other store states that the design is especially prone to vibe after unscrewing. Like it says spesificly for the e=mc^2.
That was put in place during the proto runs, when the Blink and E=mc2 still had flat hubs. As far as i know it’s not an issue on the production runs, but i’ve never had to open one so i don’t know for sure. I think Cole had an E=mc2 that needed a bearing replaced, maybe he can chime in.
Anyone else in love with the finish on these DreadnoughtGs? Like a really light, matte blast. Not shiny, but also not an extreme blast, just looks so cool when it reflects light. Also can anyone tell what the old engraving on the Dreads says? That’s why they were discounted on the YYR site btw, they had to re-do the engravings. Looks like it says “44r meets…” then just the standard player and model name. Guessing the engraver used an old file by accident since they haven’t gone by 44re:creation in 4 or 5 years lol.
Plays well. I have an A- one i’ve been enjoying. Feels nice in the hand, solid, but not overly heavy on a throw, nice medium width and diameter, powerful, ya know, all that good YYR stuff. I really enjoy it. Maybe a slightly more solid Attune would be the best way to describe the play.
Nah. Definitely exact same size and shape as my other E=mc2. YYR’s site lists the E=mc2 at 68g versus the 69g on another site, which makes sense as with string it floats between 67 and 68 on my scale, so mystery solved.
E=mc2 i think. Both are great and you can’t go wrong, but i really enjoy the size and shape of the mc2, i find it to be a little more fun, but they’re both so great it’s hard to choose.
I’m siding with the Stargeyser. It’s got more grunt to it and just feels a bit more stable to me (not that the e=mc^2 isn’t stable or anything). The e=mc^2 is a lot more comfortable in the hand though.
By the way, nice hauls guys! I’m just lurking in here and holding back myself for next year’s Lucky Boxes. I’m patiently waiting for newer models to arrive. I was so close to ordering the last batch of Lucky boxes. Haha
Well, if anybody wants a DreadnoughtG then hit me up. I got the red and yellow splash one. I have big hands, but I hate oversized throws. If anyone has a trade to propose then hit me up. I’d love a messiah or a Clyw Chief. I also got a gold attune and pink stargeyser.
Sorry to post back to back, but I think I might have some helpful, although somewhat contradictory information on this. Recently I contacted a store that Shinya works at to ask them if they would be getting any more Sleipnirs that aren’t silver. They asked what color I wanted so I told them anything except silver or pink. After that they emailed me back saying that they will be getting 1 and only 1 more Sleipnir and it would be orange. They didn’t give an exact date on when so I told them to contact me when they did and I would buy it. In the meantime I also messaged the main place where you can buy yoyorecreation yoyos directly, asking them if they would be making any more Sleipnirs that weren’t sliver or pink. They said that they wouldn’t be making any more for at least the next several months. I bought the orange Sleipnir from the other site and to my surprise it came with a fancy plaque type thing autographed by Shinya Kido himself. Shortly after I paid for my orange Sleipnir Shinya Kido announced he had left Yoyorecreation.
So it’s sort of contradictory because one place says they aren’t expecting any more Sleipnirs at all, and the direct site says they wouldn’t be making any for AT LEAST several months.
Now here is something that I just want to throw out there… the site that I bought the Sleipnir from has a disclaimer about manufacturing marks and ano flaws on YYR yoyos, and to my delight the Sleipnir I received is completely flawless. I mean it’s beautiful. Not even the tiniest flaw anywhere on it. When they told me it would be a few days they wouldn’t give me a specific date, only that it would be soon. I didn’t realize it until a week or so after I bought it that I got the email saying they had it for me the day after Shinya took 1st place in 1A at the recent Japanese yoyo competition. Guess what color Sleipnir Shinya used to win that contest? Orange. I also asked a few people if Shinya normally signs a nice looking cardboard plaque when you buy from this site, and 1 person said they thought they had received that before, but many people said they had ordered from this place and never got Shinya’s autograph. That, coupled with the fact that I was told they had the yoyo the day after the contest, and the fact that at the time the direct site had no Sleipnirs at all for sell leads me to believe that I got the yoyo Shinya used to win that contest, or more likely one of his alternate yoyos in case he got a knot. I’ve been thinking about emailing the site back to ask if I’m right, but I have bothered them enough and even if I am right I don’t believe they would tell me since it is suppose to be a brand new Sleipnir.
Long rant, but final point here. If you like YYR yoyos and haven’t been able to try a Sleipnir, buy one now if you have the money just in case they are gone for good. They are the best yoyo I’ve ever tried performance wise.
I got a sign from shinya too, but it was in november, and my Sleipnir was far from being flawless. Plus it is way too vibey to be one of Shnya’s own collection

The Triplet has an engraving so I guess it must be clear anno, which is cool as I generally try to avoid raw stuff.
