Darn it people! I just got some money back after my last yoyoshopping spree and i promised myself I would not buy another LuckyBox. Well just now as if in a trance my fingers just spent 200$ on another Luckybox. Sigh.
Any chance Shinya leaving had something to do with YYR selling so many yoyos direct? I know it sounds crazy, and i speculated a bit about it in the lucky box thread, but it does all seem a bit weird. I mean obviously with his connections and everything heās at a point where maybe heās thinking about starting his own company or pursuing other opportunities like plenty of other players, but that doesnāt explain why that would affect YYR selling through Shinyaās shop. Reading the Tumblr post in multiple translation services is seems they suspended sales at that shop, and that there was a bit of drama behind the scenes. Granted iām not sure how that explains the recent restocks at that shop but maybe those were already contracted/ordered/paid for, whatever. I guess weāll have to see if new releases like the Overdrive make it there. If not it would be a very interesting thing. Honestly i like the idea of a direct-to-consumer Japanese yoyo company and think this would be a really cool move by YYR, although as i posted in the other thread brand dilution is a worry.
I am a very happy man. I LOVE the DreadnoughtG, definately plays into my love of heavy throws, and it really doesnāt seem as big or heavy as people made out it was. It spins forever and is stable as a rock. Absolutely love it.
I like the fact that I was sent 1 oversized, 1 midsized and 1 undersided throw. It gives me a great range of YYRs to try. Donāt get me wrong, would have loved to get a Sleipnir in here, but Iām very very happy with my haul. That DreadnoughtG is beautiful. =)
Black one is a Clashcube. 44x44mm, D-bearing, designed for 44Clash in 2010, one of the best throws for chopsticks there is, what an awesome range of yoyos. 2 of my boxes should be getting here tomorrow, so excited.
One of the coolest things about YYR is how their designs and ingenuity trump specs every time. YYR can make a 72g throw feel like 65g, or a 66g throw feel like 70g, theyāre the perfect example of specs not mattering near as much as the whole experience.
Maybe next time around. After hearing about the stupid amount of float that the Acrophobia has, Iāve been dying to get my hands on one. Seeing people get them as part of such a great deal is killing me. :-\
If anyone is willing to part with their Acrophobia, let me know. That unengraved is sickā¦
I have been chopsticking that bad boy like crazy. It looks like it should be really unstable, but itās the complete opposite. Its so flipping weirdā¦ I like it.
Yeh itās mental! The DreadnoughtG is 74g or something but it really doesnāt feel all that heavy to me. No more so than my Arctic Circleā¦
Edit: itās actually 79g, flip! Doesnāt feel like it. All that weight and size makes for some serious spinā¦ thing just goes on and on.
