The size and gap width are identical to the Attuned Draupnir by the way. I checked. The coating feels different from all the other Draupnirs though. All the other colors have a metallic feeling, but the matte black versions have a softer, smoother, feeling, and are less shiny. I think it’s a slight plus since the matte black has a lower coefficient of friction due to its coating.

Oh, and I’m like 80% sure now all Draupnirs released from here on out will have a wide gap. Otherwise there will be no way to differentiate the models, unless new colors are made (crosses fingers for purple).

Glad you are enjoying it Gambit! I ordered mine a day after yours - yours was delivered super quick and the prospect of mine possibly making an appearance tomorrow is really exciting!

Those pics Shai has posted up look awesome - am I to understand you’ve got yours too now?

-thanks to both of you for putting up some comments regarding Bob in comparison to prior releases (I prefer softer/smoother feeling coatings , so this is a definite plus for me!).

It certainly is amazing! I can’t put it down. I think it’s time to get rid of everything else I have.

Well you were supposed to ::slight_smile:

The best part about it was they were a little cheeky on the customs slip and valued it at $30, meaning I didn’t have to pay any customs tax! Huzaaaaah!!

(My import tax on my first Draupnir was over $60, so you understand my relief.)

I guess you haven’t noticed I’ve been selling everything I have.

Great for you guys, but I think that because of his lack of faith in YYR, Shai’s package should have been delayed ;D

Beautiful, beautiful Bob. Can’t wait for mine. It’s in LA now, hopefully have it tomorrow or Wednesday.

Yeah yeah…I jumped the gun a little, I’ll admit. I did have reason to believe it wasn’t shipped, since I’ve never NOT been given a tracking number (or even an order confirmation), and MiamiBuddha got a tracking number when ordering after me.

And with a $240 yo-yo hanging in the balance, can you blame me for being nervous? Still, I probably should have waited before running my mouth. I guess I’m just not that patient. My bad, everybody. YYR is awesome.

What is the website used to track EMS shipments? I looked one up on google and it said that there was “no tracking information for the shipment”. Im not sure if this means that it hasn’t gone out yet, or if the tracking hasn’t been updated yet.

Edit: Nevermind I found a good website, its arrived at New York I guess, awesome!

I know you found a website but I’ll post this for the sake of anyone else not familiar with EMS and their tracking system.

EMS is a global postal service that partners with the postal services of individual countries. In the U.S., they hand off the packages to USPS after they get to customs, and USPS makes the final delivery.

Shortly after ordering, when the package is still in Japan, it’s best to track it using EMS Japan.

Once that site says it’s reached customs, you should track using USPS, or whatever the relevant postal service is for your country.

EMS is remarkably fast. I’ve received packages in as few as 4 days from ordering, though the norm is 5-6 business days, and once around Christmas it took about 10 business days. Not bad for something coming from across the globe.

wolf whistles Oh my, Bob is one sexy fella!

And yes, EMS really is amazing. Not sure how they do it but I’ve ordered stuff from Japan via EMS that’s been delivered quicker than stuff I’ve ordered from within Australia.

So my Draupnir arrived Saturday, but I couldn’t pick it up until today. Unfortunately, I have a job and thus couldn’t make it to the post office before they closed. What did I do? I was sneaky and wrote a note allowing my brother’s girlfriend to pick it up for me. All peachy, right? Wrong. It’s my brother’s birthday so his girlfriend took him on a date and he’s still not back.

If I were a weaker man, I would have cried five times by now. But I’ve only cried three.

Can you do 1 handed pinwheel with it?

What is the least expensive metal from yyrc?

Currently the only one still in stock at an incredibly low price is the 6

You better get on that…IIRC USPS only holds signed packages for 3 business days before sending them back to the return address.

@azunyan

I’m guessing the question about 1-handed pinwheels was addressed to me? I get the feeling you’re mocking me because it seems to be a favored past time of yours, but yes, I can.

You can not know how much heat I have taken over the same position. The Draupnir caused me to shed about half of my top throws too. The only ones remaining are the ones with a truly unique feel.

I have had both the Black and the Raw. I felt that the Raw was a bit lighter feeling because of the lack of anodizing. Not a huge difference, but is was noticeable.

I can’t wait for the Draupnir’s siblings now.

Smaller? …Purple??

Right on board with YoyoGeezer. The Draupnir is still easily my #1 and every other yoyo I own is either one I’d happily sell or something that feels really unique.

I’m also really looking forward to see what YYR has coming for us in the future. I’d love to see something along the lines of the Messiah, Fragment/Uragment or Blink that is Draupnir-ized.

Got a deal I couldn’t resist on a Triad and Shutter, interested to see how I feel about the Triad when it gets here.

My brother brought home Bob last night. The first time I put him through his paces, I was in my underwear. It was quite pleasurable.
