Back from my awesome trip though haven’t gotten to throw a whole lot. I was actually asked at the security checkpoint at Disney if I could just keep my yoyos put away/don’t play with them inside the park (and I respected their request as it can get too crowded in the park to safely do anything). However, I was en route back to my hotel room when I saw this guy standing at the front of one of the neighboring motels playing with a yoyo (was a sales guy trying to sell some special promo/time share). Naturally I pulled out my newly purchased Duncan Triumph and he instantly noticed a “second yoyo” in the area. We began talking about tricks, comparing notes, etc. I told him to hit up YYE to pick up on some tricks as he was in the intermediate tricks. After demoing a few other tricks we parted ways. Was cool to run into another thrower on my trip, completely at random too!
So today, during the end of my shift(physical therapy center/gym), I decided to practice some tricks when a gym member(60ish) noticed me playing. He asked if it was a a standard yoyo. I explained. He was fascinated by how far they have grown. He then mentioned that his brother was a yoyo champion back in 1951. He told me he was gonna bring in a picture for me. Thought that was pretty cool. Then he saw more technical tricks and he was amazed and told me to street perform in NYC. What a good moral booster.
