I forgot lol. I did make it home from yhe office so I should be able to call in at least by audio
Same sign in…yes??
Here is the info
Have some fun for me guys! I just got back from a funeral and I just want to be with the family for a bit. Cherish your loved ones. Love each other. We all love yo-yo.
Dang 3 hours later and still dealing with kids who refuse to sleep so I guess I missed that one.
Its OK. We will have another one.
Oh great minds think alike
Haha
I did this to my Deep State as well!
It was fun to mess around with.
Another $10 was made today! That puts the club up to 32 yo-yos donated so far!
As a side note, I’m putting in the order notes that the donations are from the club, not from me.
Less than 24 hours to order a Boomer shirt and support the Fundraiser.
If we sell at least ONE more shirt we’ll be able to make TWO more $10 donations!
OK. Buy ANY Throw-Yo tee or hoodie before 5 p.m. EST today and proceeds will go towards the fundraiser.
Thanks for the reminder.
@Pun1sh3R Ok my friend. It’s no secret that you possess a prototype of the soon to be available Metal Harbinger from MK1 and Spinworthy collab. Though I don’t think I’ve seen any “review”, if you will, about it. How do you feel about sharing some of your impressions of the prototype so as to create a sort of community drool over the upcoming release?
Guilty.
Not sure what info you are looking for, but I will give you my thoughts. I have some comments on it in other threads, with comparisons to other yoyos. Just not sure where those are at the moment.
The metal Harbinger is a Bearing/Metal Version of the Wood Harbinger (Exact replica of specs).
Specs for the Prototype I have (1 of 5);
Diameter = 58.5mm
Width = 32.5mm
Gap = 2.3mm
Weight = 48g
This yoyo to me is a 0A Beast. I personally like the larger diameter and light weight of this yoyo. To me it is impressively light in comparison to its diameter.
The MR85 Bearing and Red Bloodcell responce pads lend to its playability. This yoyo feels like a wood fixie on the throw. You can feel the slight drag on the string as in unwinds. Unlike wood fixies though, it spins forever. The response is similar to the Red Blood Cell, but feels different in this configuration. Different = Good. It is very predictable, not snaggy in 0A and comes back on a tug.
Other than the increased spin time, it really plays like its wood counterpart.
Do I plan on buying a Production Model? - YES! Two of them if I can.
Do I play this yoyo a lot?- Unfortunately, No. Having only 1 of 5 and until this point unable to replace, it is a cherished throw.
Out of all my Modern Responsives (About 25 different Models) it is in the top 3. Probably #1 if I felt comfortable throwing it more.
I struggle with it in 1A type tricks. This isnt the yoyos fault though, user error. I feel it is way more capable than I am.
Hope this helps. Please ask any questions you may have.
Have Fun.
Nice little review @Pun1sh3R.
The Harbinger proto you have is really good in my opinion. Rest assured the production run is significantly better again, as well as much cheaper. It will be cost less than the RBC.
Wait until you see the box. It’s certainly premium. You can thank Mark for that, I’m more of a shove-it-in-a-bag kind of guy.
No clue what you are talking about, bags???
I really cant imagine better than the Prototype right now. Challenge accepted though. Just need to get my hands on one when they release.
You’ll get one! There should be plenty at YYE.
It is hard to imagine it being better than the proto, but I’ll try to outline the differences.
The production run feels a little softer and gentler. The proto feels more of a wild animal on the string, although still very controllable.
The increased 2.4mm gap makes a significant improvement to its string trick capabilities. I pulled of a Superman straight up on mine. I actually haven’t played a responsive yoyo that manages reliable response as well as string tricks quite so well. Usually one or the other suffers.
I honesty think it’s the best modern responsive yoyo I’ve played. (Hope thats not too trumpet-blowey of me).
Thanks a ton @Pun1sh3R and @Glenacius_K for the review and the follow up information. It is great to hear that there will be large quantities and lower prices. Not in any way do I feel like the higher prices aren’t warranted by the excellent products. But this will get excellence into the hands of more people. I hope these all sell out…but not before I get one. Very, very, very excited for this!!!
Looking forward to trying one. My initial gut is telling me I want it to be a bit heavier, but will wait til I play one
Not gonna lie, I can appreciate a good bag, haha!
