The XT is most definitely a very capable yoyo.
It’s responsive, but not snaggy, and it handles simple string tricks well, as well as old school responsive tricks.
I kind of like the feel of the starbursts, I prefer silicone, of course. but it’s fine.
but the sound, I cannot stand the sound of string grinding on the starbursts… just cut my ears off, man.
I’ll have to try out some shims.

The Kasm has gotten great reviews and the price is not too crazy.

I’ll consider it; I’m thinking of picking up some washers at the hardware store and sticking 'em in my Butterfly XT, we’ll see what I think of that.

The Kasm should also come with “bearing locks” essentially making it great for fixie play. It’s really pretty amazing for the price.

Beefcaking in a YoYo is having 2 bearings side by side the TFL and XXXXL by Werrd came stock with a beefcake setup

I don’t think I’ve ever beefcaked a setup to where it didn’t play pretty wonky, haha.
To be fair, my experience with this was mostly with G-Bearings and very slimlines, which is already pretty unique, lol.

It’s an old mod that @DocPop invented.
It’s just putting 2 bearings in a yoyo, one on top of the other. It’s a neat trick for old yoyos with teeny tiny bearings.

G-Bearing are the ones that Custom uses, right?
somewhat unrelated, but have you ever used a Custom Reactor? I’m thinking about picking one up. of course, I don’t expect it to be a well performing, trick to trick to trick kind of yoyo, but is it fun?

And not the Reactor specifically, but I played around with the MAG series for a while.
I will admit, they are aesthetically pleasing.
