Yoyo Boomers Club

@Pun1sh3R - I put the FAF25 logo in the “Add Your Content” folder in the YYBC Google Drive.

I’m still not sure if I can make stickers on the office Cricut. My car died last week, and I haven’t been back into the office since.

EDIT: @Captrogers - Look here!

Thank you. Can you let Captnrogers know where the logo is too?

Heyo - 1st post on the forums for me. I’m getting into yoyo a few decades after loving them as a kid but forgetting they existed as a busy taking myself too seriously adult. Please allow this noob into the club!

I’m stoked at the idea of modern responsive play and just purchased a 1970’s NIB and 1990s Duncan Butterfly in prep for Fixed Axle February. Looking forward to meeting and learning from everyone!

Welcome to the Forum and Welcome to the club. You have been added to the Member List in the first post.

What an exciting time to get in. We are in the middle of putting Fixed Axle February together. Last year was our first run at it… But this year is looking insane!!!

Modern Responsive will be very similar to the Fixed Axle Play, just with a bearing and a few more string tricks. Modern Responsive March is just around the corner!

Now that you’re one of us… shall we discuss the Yomega Wing Force?

I’ll just use a Butterfly XT for MRM this year, but what might be a better, more advanced responsive yoyo?

(So disappointing I missed the Workhorse. :smiling_face_with_tear:)

We just found out today in Monday Morning Yoyo that the Workhorse will not be available for MRM this year.

There are a lot of MRM yoyos. My first recommendation is to pick up a MR85 modded yoyo from Ms. Pyro. 2nd would be the Jazz Kasam from Layer Infinity (There are some other amazing variants as well, but your a Boomer so go Jazz). 3rd would be to scour the BST for any one of the greats from the past (Weekender, Mijo, Harbinger, Respawn, Deep(er) State, etc.).

Thanks–I’m a big mod guy, might need to scrape up some cash and some 'Flies and shoot Ms. Pyro a message.

butterfly xt is a great responsive yoyo, i would recommend adding 1 or two thin shims. helps add a little bit of kickback that is welcomed on that yoyo.

The XT is most definitely a very capable yoyo.

It’s responsive, but not snaggy, and it handles simple string tricks well, as well as old school responsive tricks.

I kind of like the feel of the starbursts, I prefer silicone, of course. but it’s fine.

but the sound, I cannot stand the sound of string grinding on the starbursts… just cut my ears off, man.

I’ll have to try out some shims.

Agreed, they do scream a bit lol

The Kasm has gotten great reviews and the price is not too crazy.

My niece and nephew subtracted 2 yo-yos from my collection on new years.

Me what? I know nothing! Thank you rob

I’ll consider it; I’m thinking of picking up some washers at the hardware store and sticking 'em in my Butterfly XT, we’ll see what I think of that.

The Kasm should also come with “bearing locks” essentially making it great for fixie play. It’s really pretty amazing for the price.

I can afford washers for a Butterfly XT–I can’t afford another yo-yo. lol
