Bea is baking up a storm today to prepare for tomorrow. Once Santa arrives in the Thanksgiving Day Parade, Christmas officially starts in our household…though we’ve been debating not calling it Christmas anymore. We never celebrated it in a religious way.
We don’t actually do Thanksgiving dinner until Sat usually, and we love it, lol. Takes a lot of the pressure off from prep, have a couple days to relax and reset, and the grocery stores are much less busy, lol.
I host night before Thanksgiving baking with my siblings (but usually just my sister now as she’s the only other one with kids; the other siblings are too cool for this scene). It’s usually casual; I make a little charcuterie and cocktail pitcher, order a couple of pizzas, make some pies, cookies, and brownies.
Regardless of my take on holidays, good times with friends and family are always a welcome break from the hectic day to day lives we are all subjected to. I hope you all enjoy whatever lies ahead for you.
I’m really looking forward to the Christmas season this year— my sister is coming to visit, as well as my brother, his wife, and their daughter; my brother and I are both crazy yo-yo nerds, and I haven’t seen him since I started getting decent at string tricks… so that’s gonna be a lot of fun! (I am also looking forward to stuffing myself full of Aebleskivers)
Aebleskevers are soooo good lol. We found a kit at a grocery store and were intrigued by the name so we got it and were blown away by the finished result.
Edit: I suppose I should probably join this here club?
I’ve loved yo-yos since the 90’s, and got back into them somewhat recently,
Are I a boomer?
I keep my pano on a home-made holster and flipped into my left back pocket, stealth modeENGAGED.
It basically disappears, I don’t even notice when I’m getting in or out of cars, driving them, whatever, it’s perfect. Even if I don’t play it through the day, it’s just nice to keep on me and look at time to time
My partner is danish and æbleskivers have been the best addition to my holiday season! And every season really, we make them monthly at this point! Filled with apple butter or chocolate is my favorite!
