I keep a couple foot bags on the book shelf in the living room. You never know when inspiration may strike!
A late buddy and myself used to hack all the time. I got one a few years back for memories, I remembered, quickly how a** I am at hacky-sack. lol
@GnarlyCharlie do you play often? I might pick it back up now that it’s on my mind.
Man it took a moment for my dumb IT brain to understand your not hacking something your hack ing a sack…
I don’t play super often, but every once in a while I’ll feel a small urge and start kicking one around for a little. I have 2 laying around for easy access. It’s great exercise.
I should also note that I’m horrible at it lol.
Ok, y’all. It’s getting MORE real. I’ve started working on the Workhorse strings.
I’ll have pics of the last three colors once I start working on them. I’ll start with the Founders strings (Monobath Chroma Elixirs) and the Space Wagon strings (Amalthea Elixirs.)
Each string color for the Workhorse is exclusive to the Workhorse. Every order will comes a QR Code to order more of that color if you dig it.
The Workhorse v2 is ready to move… who gets it next?
Hobby Horse update.
I repaired my first proto (left here) for the Hobby Horse that was made to the specs of the Dead ‘Orse but otherwise from memory. The middle is my most recent proto, which was tweaked after having the real deal (right) in hand.
Weights (left to right) 49g, 47g, 57g. I apparently still haven’t nailed the weight.
The dimples on these also such for fingerspins. I think it’s the texture because they’re printed as bridges.
Have you tried the v.1? we could swap PIF’s?
It would be cool to have a back to back comparison.
I love the design. I’m always a fan of trying to copy Spinworthy yo-yos via printing haha.
I think you might be able to get a bridge closer in texture with some calibration. What temp and speed are you bridging at? Flow rate?
If you share the file with me I’m happy to also try a few bridge tests and see if I have ideas for tweaks.
I think it’s not going to change it much. I think the bridges are made in one direction whereas the wood equivalent gets a smooth radial sanding job, and so they’ll just be different. One thing I could think about doing would be printing an insert and gluing it in, so I can get the bottom layer textured surface. Honestly I’m also just fine with the rims being the primary feature and the dimple being less good for fingerspins and pull starts (it’s still ok on pull starts).
IRL pic of @Mooky
Heck yeah! I’ll dm you
Was just watching @DocPop recent 3D printed yoyo video.
Doc is Rocking a Boomer Glass!
Thanks for the support Mr. DocPop!
fascinating talk that really made me want a printer lol
