Yoyo Appraisal Thread

It’s possible said individual was big into yoyos back in that time range and did some heavy collecting and then just went radio silent for 12 years and forget most of his knowledge over that time span.

Or it’s possible that you are into something that would be important to know before proceeding.

I have no clue and I’m broke, so yeah, lol.

for what concerns me, and for the objects that are in the picture … I can also bang my head and forget my name … but I certainly do not forget what a BSP is or that a Pure was made by SPYY … not even after 50 years, not 12 (great enthusiast, in fact).
And a Stradivarius, trust me, does not come into your hand by chance.
Then it will be that I live in a “sadly strange country” but one of the first things I learned in life was: “to think badly one commits a sin but one almost always guesses”.
However, I would be very careful to send money without first understanding the situation and being sufficiently convinced … then everyone will do what they want.

p.s. as for your second hypothesis, just today I added that Latin phrase next to my personal name … you can search for its meaning

You would be surprised at big collectors that forget the names

I remember one collector a while back would only buy throws with engravings so he could track it down in the future because he would just constantly place orders and then forget about them. Some still in the packaging unopened.

I wouldn’t put it past him to be one of those buyers who grabbed a bunch off eBay because of how they looked and then just straight up forgot what they were.

Plenty of collectors who don’t participate in the forum at all.

he will explain to us … if there is nothing strange, there is no problem explaining it and since we are talking about objects of considerable value, both collectible and, consequently, monetary I think it is entirely due, on request … .

In my house? Would you like me to write down my user name next to said yoyos? I collected things out of sheer boredom once upon a time.

If you think I have ill intentions you’d be sadly mistaken.

What would you like to know?

I’m asking you the country where yoyos are found … as a potential buyer it seems to me the minimum to make evaluations … as for bad or good intentions, we don’t know each other at all … I asked you some questions, as they say at my house: “asking is lawful, answering is courtesy”

Anyone coming at @WCMTWS is a clown IMO. My brother bought a bunch of high end throws when we were building our collections around 2009. He still has em and I know for a fact he couldn’t tell you the names of half of em now. I don’t blame @WCMTWS for not remembering the names of some boutique yoyos he bought over a decade+ ago. Not everyone is as into this stuff as we are, and let’s not be so quick to jump on someone who has graciously decided to part with these rare throws. Not the kind of welcome I’d want if I were selling some rare stuff.

Exactly what Sparhawk has said. There’s so many various yoyos out there, and looking at his collection, plenty do not have markings to remember what they are. As Sparhawk stated too, this isn’t uncommon. There’s numerous times that people have forgotten what the name of a yoyo is, especially after a decade.
Nothing he has done has been suspicious either.

do you know what a BSP or a Pure Gold was at the time?!?!?

Yeah that’s what im thinking, I can refrain from making a reserve on some that i put up that way. Id like to keep them on the forum honestly but pricing is “x says it’s worth this much, y says it’s worth this, all while z is trying to take advantage of me” hah

United States.

No one is forcing you to make any purchases from me, if you want something great, if you don’t that’s fine. Do you think I participated in the massive thrower heist of 2014? Lmao.

thanks for the information, you see, it was not difficult to write two words (United States).
Even more strange, you do not remember the name of one of the most iconic yoyos in history but you know of news stories that happened in “this little world” of a few years ago … at least curious.
Well, good sales … you are certainly right about one thing, I don’t have to.

I have no interest in screwing people over, I just have a large collection of items I just don’t have the same interest level in as I once did. These have been in storage for 10+ years. I don’t need to continously haul stuff around. As mentioned in my OP, I’m keeping a few, beyond that let someone else enjoy it. No sense in keeping them bundled up anymore.

I’ve been selling clothing, knives, and now some yo-yos. In fact here is the clothing I’ve been hoarding for the past 9-10 years, just like the yo-yos.

Wonderful, good luck.

I did, yes, but like I said, not everyone remembers or frankly, cares.

maybe the world is varied … I also have many interests and passions, knives, mechanical watches, fountain pens, LPs, yoyos, chainsaws … I can forget things, of course, but certainly not the older Montblanc model and particular that I own, a 142 of the 53, this even if I haven’t got it out of its costodia for almost 10 years or in seeing a Royal Oak on a photo, forgetting that it is an Audemar Piguet … even if I have never owned one or worn one, etc.
But ok, there is … but do not try to convince me that the thing is not enough to raise doubts.

p.s. thanks for the good wishes … but I don’t need luck

Obviously something is bothering you, care to expand? If not, please stop.

It’s my stuff, I bought it and as @SR1 said, I just don’t care about a lot it. A lot of things happen over the course of 10 years. Would you like to see a receipt from yoyosams? Jesus dude

Also, your edit is extremely cringe.

Don’t take it personally. It’s an uncommon risk to try to spend hundreds or thousands on yoyos. If you have answers for people who want them, give them, and if you don’t, you don’t.

No I get it, but the manner in which he asks is a bit off-putting. I feel like he’s trying to paint me as a theif or something to that effect.

I understand the cost, there was a time when you could say I was addicted to opening boxes. Like i said i’m cleaning house to a certain extent. Like mentioned, here’s some clothing I’m getting rid of, why? Because I just dont need it.

It comes back to letting other people enjoy it. But his questioning of me, or my stuff is unnecessary.
