the YYF Bi-Metal Superstar surpassed my expectations i didn’t know what i was getting but i was pretty sure it was a yoyo so i didn’t know what to expect
lived up to the hype probably the N12 i heard people say “not the best but decent for the price”
I want to try (not buy) one of these. I’ve heard similar things about the weight and I didn’t like the normal ND I tried, but it seems like a lot of non-sponsored players use the BiND for contests.
When Im better down the road and get into more technical tricks, I could see the advantage of it’s stability and weight but the thing wore out my wrist from throwing it lol.
Hummingbird - so freakin refined. It’s dainty for lack of a better word on the string, but 100% not in a derogatory way. In this no-presence of presence way. Floaty but some (or alot?) is because of being so light. On the string it doesn’t display its power, but it is there. But it can also disappear easier than the OD. I catch myself playing lighter and then it comes alive so to speak. It is such a finesse level yoyo that I don’t think I’ve ever played one that compares.
Overdrive Draupnir - A power house. Feels direct and beastly on the string. Some float, but a presence that is always there. You will be getting returns after your normal tricks that hurts your hand! I can’t say enough good things about it. Blew me away. Didn’t think I could like a yoyo this much and never have.
Not that excited for since I knew how it looked already and it wasn’t an 888. 888GT. There is nothing about this yoyo other than the finish that I like. Yet. Only been a few days.
No. Problem was I never believed the hype. I had other YYR (Slepnir specifically) and while it was good, it didn’t make me re-imagine what a yoyo could be, if that makes sense. I had Turning Point, Jokers, etc. and just didn’t believe I was missing out on anything. That and the weights were so similar and I found I suffered play wise on anything below 64g so I stayed away from some for that reason. Always wanted to try a Drop Bear though. That Weerd with the boxer name was light and good too though!
Also take my impressions knowing my experience is from someone who doesn’t do horizontal other than finger spins. So there’s a whole other world to these I do not experience.
I have both, and I would definitely recommend the Edolass over the OD. The OD is really great but it can feel a bit chunky at times due to the combination of its big diameter and above average width for a diameter of that size. The Edolass plays super fast yet super stable; it’s definitely one of the best bimetals I’ve played.
Surpassed expectations: Legato 2 and plastic 000. The Legato 2 is a super nice player, light and maneuverable without feeling like you have to play fast. And the 000 is just unbelievably good for a plastic organic.
Failed expectations: Freehand Nextgen. This was completely my fault though I didn’t do enough research and thought it was actually like a freehand, when it’s mostly just a plastic Duncan lol
I hate to say it cuz I absolutely love the company and their continued commitment to advancing yo-yo but the alebrije was the most disappointing yo-yo I’ve ever gotten.
Lived up to the hype- Motion Accelerated and Dressle Designs Monarch
Surpassed expectations-YYF Switchblade
Fell short-Duncan freehand. I think I’m just missing the nostalgia element with this one
