Wood yo-yos

I have some tiger wood yo-yos made by a local turner who is trying his hand at turning yo-yos. I had some tiger wood lying around so I gave it to him to try his hand at turning throws. I would like to give these away to some wood throwers. I had to add just the gap it was too wide in the beginning. So these are not perfect but the go up and down and loop. It has a bit more weight that teak I am going to get more made in the future. The wood seems difficult to get balanced well. Is that just the way wood goes sometimes due to the uneven weight distribution ?
