Anyone ever hear of this yoyo maker?

Got these from a tiny souvenier shop in Gatlinburg, TN. Glued axle. Proper string around axle. Decent weight. Website is no longer there. Anyone ever heard of this person?

Nice choice!

They have a Facebook page and March of last year they posted that the person making them was having health issues. They seem to make a number of traditional wooden toys. Never heard of them, but its cool to see other people making throws

Did you try the phone number?

If you find them and they are still turning then share their info.

Looks like a cool design with good craftsmanship but it also looks like a “glue up” of some kind. You can see the seams across the cup and inside the profile. The halves are not from a single blank.

It looks like it was segmented. Two contrasting colors stacked and turned. It’s pretty common for doing bowls and platters. Definitely more appealing when the colors differ more than in this piece but it definitely looks well made.
