souvenir shop downtown had a rack of wood with names/titles etc. burned on them. i didnt get one but the gaps were hilariously big, prob barely responded unless the string was tacked

All the ones I have seen have the string fixed to the axle.

I ended up actually buying one at my local theme park/work place because, why not have a yoyo with the park’s branding on it and my name? Well, as others said, the gap was hilariously too wide. Later that evening, the yoyo kinda just came apart (bad glue plus a fall off my desk). I ended up sanding the axle a bit, thinned that gap and now it works pretty well all things considered!
I think I may have seen 1 or 2 in the hands of another person at the park…otherwise yea, they collect dust.

Yeah, I have one of those someone gifted to me. The string is glued to the axle. It sits on the shelf with the others because it’s a yoyo…
