Why The "Peak 2" Hate?

Great googly moogly.

I appreciate all the passion over this. Hopefully we do y’all proud. Thanks for the support!

I think Exmime has hit the perfect cure.

I think a Magnesium Peak would be a non stop ticket to happiness.

I think magnesium would be a great recipe for the shape.

Magnesium peak would feel great in the hand. It no doubt would be really smooth. The weight distribution would not have to be overly rimmed focused. It wouldn’t be real fast, but it would have that magnesium float characteristic, which is unusually fun.

Personally, as much as I imagine things, I can’t remember ever giving a thought to what if a peak was made of magnesium. But now that it’s been mentioned, it’s kind of stuck in my mind because several makers have come up with a pretty good magnesium yo-yos.

RSO released an excellent magnesium yo-yo. Jeffrey Pang released the Akura MG, that is amazing. Kentaro From turning point has released several magnesium yo-yos that all play pretty damn good and the short list goes on.

A magnesium Peak Would be the cats meow.

Wow… That would really be something.

And… Laser edge that little mountain on that sucker and you’d be Rokken like Dokken.

Mg Peak…

Then again, if CLYW were to make a “Peak MG” or whatever, its mere existence would torment me, I’m sure it would cost an arm and a leg, if not more! I don’t think I’d ever get one (and feel good about how much I payed for it)

Besides, I already have a Magnesium grail (Red or Blue OG Freehand MG) the last thing I need is another one!

…You guys gotta make one

Yeah Pang wrote in his Luftverk blog about the density of magnesium. Saying he worked it like plastic since it’s closer to plastic than Ti.

Imagining the peak through that lens sounds dope

MG Peak sounds fun

But if someone says they want a bimetal Peak I would immediately block them

@Exmime gets free Peak MG for the idea, I get one too for the idea coming from my thread.

Peak MG would be awesome, whether I own one or not, knowing it exists would fill me with joy.

I no longer own any Peaks so I don’t have a horse in the collectors value race. That being said, when the Lodge made the final run they told the masses that was it, the yoyo was retired. That could matter to some collectors. :person_shrugging:

Peak 2’s probably my least favorite caribou lodge yoyo. Lacks power and just felt anemic. Esp. compared to the Ti Peak and Plastic Peak which I absolutely loved. Some people may enjoy that style of organic yoyo but it’s definitely not for me.

Beater and Creep are also personal favs of mine lol, I just… didn’t like the Peak 2.

Never tried a peak 1 so no nostalgia for me, that thing released when I was a toddler lol

I’m very looking forward to trying the P3AK out tho.

One thing that annoys manufacturers is having a hundred people give their ideas and suggestions on what a yoyo should and shouldn’t be, when they aready know exactly what they are going to do and why.

Would people be happy with an End Pt. 2 type of remake?

How do mean? The End Part 2 had many variants spread out over a couple of years

I prefer the Finale I guess because the shape looks nicer, but either Al variant if that helps you visualize.

Edit:

Turns out that’s basically what is happening

“The P3AK is going to be nearly a 1-to-1 with just the absolute most minor of tweaks to fix the THUNK on the end of the string.”
