my favorite is tal Mordoch I love his speedy technical style.
one of his performances:
I feel like the title of my favorite player has changed a lot over the past. I used to be a huge Zach Gormley fan when I first started, then I found myself watching Ryota Ogi, then Gentry Stein right around the time he won Nats the first time in 2013 and then Worlds in 2014. I still really really like Quentin Godet. That dude is amazing and, having met him, he’s one of the happiest individuals I’ve ever met in my life. Style-wise, I am back to being mesmerized by Zach Gormley. The tech and flow of his tricks are just outstanding and I can’t stop watching his old freestyles. Specifically, his 2012 Nats and his 2016 Worlds freestyles are beautiful.
Myself?
I don’t really know if I could pick a favorite player. There’s so many modern and oldschool players who just have so many different reasons why I’d pick them. Most of my favorite players though are some combination of 4A/5A players though. With oldschool picks like Shingo Terada, Yoshihiro Abe, Daigo Komiya, Jake Bullock, or even more modern players like Ryuto Nishikawa and Sora Ishikawa. Players like Terry especially stand out still now just because of how smooth and flowy they can play, like how Terry manages to throw horizontal 5A that’s slow and looks great is mesmerizing to watch. Jake and Diago are also super cool to watch for all of their super creative techy 5A stuff.
But as far as 4A players there’s the oldschool legends like Bryan Figueroa, Atsushi Yamada, and then modern players like Koyo Hashimoto and Connor Seals.
So yeah I can’t pick at all. So here’s a clip of Terry from the Duncan Raptor promo which was one of the videos that made me pick up 5A.
The only correct answer is Yuuki Spencer
(at least it’s the only correct answer for me!)
For me it’s gotta be Ed Haponik! Big fan of his super chill style, it’s something I strive for in my own throwing. Though every once in awhile, he pulls out something crazy! I harken it to a good jazz solo, don’t hit the audience with all your crazy stuff all at once, leave some space and some simple phrases, then at the right time you hit em’ where it hurts. Bonus points for him being a bassist, low-enders unite, lol!
Yuki Nishisako
all that, and not a single error. Unbelievable. Agreed!
Tessa Piccillo
Bassist high 5!!
Jason lee
Jensen, Chuck, @sakatuca, Kieran, Zach Gormley
From where I stand, most people in posted videos are so far ahead of me that they all might as well be Michael Jordan and I’m just a guy with a basketball. Thaaaat said…have you seen this??!!
Zach Gormley is awesome, tech king of the states and inspired me to start yoyoing
Yuta Kashiwaya is an incredibly based player, bro’s got finesse and tech that makes my brain melt.
Jakub Dekan is speed king bro deserved to be higher than 16th in 2015
Jason Liu is just awesome lmao
Hank’s tricks are so mind blowing. He and Kentaro Kimura are absolute yoyo wizards. I might not be able to pick a favorite player, but Mowl videos are easily my favorites. There’s such a good blend of beautiful/crazy tricks and artistic cinematography.
Agreed. And the music.
