Caveat: I’ve not thrown many plastic yoyos.
Shooting Star is an amazing deal, coming with both responsive and unresponsive bearings & axles (and good ones at that). If that were all it had going for it, it would be a decent deal, but not as good as MYY offerings. But, the yoyo itself is actually one of my favorites to throw.
Despite being relatively light and plastic, the thing is actually decently stable and long spinning. It’s quite fast in play and very catchable. The grind finish is good, colorways great (way better than the SHXX, imo), and mine came dead smooth. It also has a fairly renowned finger spin dimple; I agree it’s good, but not quite as good as my Czech Point Pivot. I really think it holds its own against most monometals. A fantastic combination of performance, fun, quality, and utility (parts) for $30.
