I play guitar so sadly I only have callouses on the tips of my finger and Iāve been throwing almost everyday for a long time now and I still donāt have callouses I donāt even understand how you would get callouses from throwing to be honest. The string is always on a different place on your fingers.

Throwing a breakaway. It happens when the string hits my index finger. The string grinds into my skin so much that is is rough and dry there.

After reading the thread I decided to try a sky bind as I never had done it before. I hit it my first try but yea, how the heck do you do this without burning the crap out of your finger?! Is there some nuance or trick to not getting burned?
No it just seems to hurt.

I understand getting string burn from eli hops, but how on sky bind? Donāt think Iāve ever experienced it with sky bind.

Yeah, when I first learned sky bind, my fingers got burned pretty bad. I find that when you hold your hand palm up with maybe 2 or 4 fingers, that helps.
Anyway, I donāt get a whole ton of string burn anymore. The only times I really get it is sometimes when I do an offstring throw.
