What’s your travelin’ yo?

Do you have a particular throw that you have dedicated to being your “can’t leave home without one” Yoyo? What makes it your travel buddy?

Currently it’s the Recess Hypernova which replaced my YYF Sugar which replaced a Plastic Peak.

They’re all just nice reliable yo-yos that I like to throw

The 23’ Butterfly AL, It floats like a butterfly and tings like aluminum. It fits perfectly in my pocket and can handle most tricks up through the midschool era (Rancid Milk, Hitchiker, etc).

I bang it on signs and side throw it on ledges. I try to grind rails and I’ve walked the dog on centuries old brick in Europe with it. After all the abuse I can still shoot the moon and kickflip all day. Super versatile and tough throw thats willing to deal with whatever you have for it.

Used to be a shortcut because it’s smallish and just good

I’ve been carrying a OD rebirth lately because it’s smaller still.

I keep a ceramic bearing in the EDC yoyo because it’s easy to clean and i work outside and my truck gets real dusty

ZGRT El Tio. It’s in my pocket every day, with no exceptions except for One July. It’s thin, easy to carry, and a blast to throw. Hopefully, someday, it will grace the pocket of a younger thrower.

My go to travel yoyo used to be a Mowl Obsession. The thing can handle anything, super stable, and mono. However, I think my new go everywhere yoyo may be the At Design Lab ZERO.

Now that’s a traveling’ yoyo lol, I need a pic of this thing

It’s a little hard to see in pictures but the edges are nice and silvery and I have a palm tree and the fleur-de-lis carved into the cup. The bolt you see is an XT axle threaded all the way through since I screwed up the original threads with all the bonking around.

I forgot to answer my own question:
My daily carry yo is my Dif-E-Yo Wide Sport,
Mainly because it’s raw alum, so no worries about anno, and it has a very beefy axle

current gen butterfly… i like to mod them, they are cheap so i am not worrried about destroying them or giving them away, and if you can do a hard trick with one of these, most other yoyos should be easier. it’s just a timeless classic to me. even non throwers know what a duncan is. nothing snobby about it.

On the unresponsive end, i’ve been carrying the DIY daily since February. Its just a really great all around player that fits my preferences ( i like organics the most) and I just don’t fear dinging it since its plastic. its not super cheap but not super expensive either. I have much fancier, more expensive, more performant metal and hybrid yoyos that are all great and i’m sure most players would prefer them, but i like to carry this one all the time.

I usually bring my FH1 with me places, it was beginning to break, so I knew I wouldn’t be sad if it broke.

I was thinking more along the lines of a godson or nephew, but I’ll keep you in mind @Snoopy.

I always have a Yoyo on me. My Current Pocket ride is the MK1xSW Harbinger.

Previous EDCs;
ZGRT Poly Mijo
MK1xSW Blood Cell
OD Deeper State
Recess Snack (Half Speced)
YYF Turbo Grind Machine
YYF Confusion

I tend to carry a yoyo for a month or so, then swap out to share the love.

Either Ti Vayder or Dink. They’re both super fun, good performers, and durable as all get out.

clear panorama. awesome player, pyramatte is durable as heck, side effects can also play it responsive, it’s as capable as i am

I’ve been seeing a lot of love for the Panorama, maybe that will be my first OD
I have been trying to decide what to try first lol

it’s slimmer so obviously demands tighter play, but it just feels so darn good to hit cleanly. plus as I’ve played it more and more, when i pick up one of my wider yos it feels like its on easy mode

I don’t leave the house too often but if I do I usually take my Deep State and/or my Shooting Star.

I don’t get out much either but last time I left for a Dr appointment I took my Ti Janus and then lost it had a mental breakdown. Wife found it in my jacket eventually. Haven’t taken a Yoyo out since.
