What’s the best string these days

The question is the title

Subjective, but that’s a boring answer.

Throw Yo and Zipline are great! Many flavors from each brand to dial in what you like, top tier quality and service.

YoYo String Lab makes some fun stuff, same with Twisted Stringz.

Original Throw has some nice bulk as well.

Everyone will have a different answer but I’ve been working my way through YoyoStringLab and I really like Type X and Plutonium. Plutonium is super whippy and Type X is a good balance between soft and whippy + holds tension well. Type X is probably my favorite. Don’t like Ammo so much, though.

Oh, and if I’m buying bulk, Sochi x Zipline AlphaLine for sure. It stays out of stock, though, and my supply is dwindling. Hence the YoyoStringLab mission.

Zipline ZS Air lasts forever. No more bulk string required. You wouldn’t even guess it’s 100% nylon.

+1 for zipline. i play exec lites but I’ve tried most of their current runs and they’re all amazing players and as @Shwa pointed out, they last FOREVER

Alphaline has been my go to for bulk poly (but I am intrigued by Canopy as cake has given it top reviews.) I have splurged on poly nylon blends, but I haven’t played much unresponsive lately, so I stick with Alphaline on my metal fixed axles, and the few unresponsives I play

For wood axle, bulk cotton I love yoyoexpert type 10. For premium cotton, I love Zipline Kotn

See my horn here? Watch me toot it.

Throw-Yo strings, FTW! Lots of different blends depending on your preferences/play style, and they last forever. Just wash’em every once and a while.

Like others have said, it’s subjective. Except for ZS.Air. It’s the best :joy: I like Sochi Fat for bulk poly.

Re: ZS Air.

Ended up trying these for now. It’s awesome. But how do you keep the loop around your finger? It’s so slick for me

you can put anything waxy on the finger loop like chapstick

Has anyone here tried this string yet? Im curious how it might compare to alphaline since i think they may be similar

You can make a double slip knot when using nylon string. It creates a friction point that can be manually tightened and loosened. This thread has a ton of pictures explaining how to do it!

Might see if i can snag a bag at nats then if yye has em

Can you define “forever”? Let’s say you play 1-2 hours daily for example. What arr we talking about? Weeks? Months? Decades?

Idk how they compare to alphaline but I like them. The yellow feels a bit better but I kinda dont love looking at it. The white ones are still pretty great.

I was thinking of white but either should be fine. And yeah ive noticed that yellow seem to play better than most colors when playing with the same string but i like the look of either white or pink

Does anyone recall what the markmont washable strings were called?

I had purchased a bequest legacy a few years ago and it came with that one. Lasted me for months and was super unique.

All of markmonts blends are washable and last forever but they have been on hiatus from selling strings for a while now.

@Pete yeah I got some they are really dope for a little bit but break in weird and that makes me want to change them really fast and I don’t like that. If you don’t mind changing strings frequently then you might love them.

@quinton yo this will go away when you break the string in more like the slippy slippy def happens for me as well when the string is new but stops after a few hours of play time. I just play through it
