what kind of sand paper should i use for satining?
Sandpaper.
Wet/dry in various grits.
you really only need to use wet/dry for grits over ~400
I use 100, 150, 400, then 600 grit. You can go up more if you want.
I use abrasive paper or sand paper.
Just asking, what are you satining your yoyo for? If you want to remove anno or ding, use lower grit, 200 or so. To increase grind, i use 500-600 grit. To get a miror finish, i use up to 1000 grit and polish my yoyo.

Yeah 400-600 grit is about right to get it smooth
I start with a 150 grit. :o Then I go up to a 400 grit, and then use steel wool to finish it off. Wet sandpaper will result in a look similar to the original metal (minus the anno) and dry will give it a silvery look, like… a Dr.Grip pencil silver. Or one of those gel grip ones. Steel wool can stay dry, doesn’t matter to the end result.

wat i used to sand it was a nail file to get rid of the paint then smoothed it out with the sand paper
This is for lapping computer heatsinks, but i use it to satin my yoyos to a mirror like finish…
