Janus, M1, snack, heist
So like…where’s the line? When is it undersized and when does it become a mini?
The RSO Starship is my favorite undersized yo-yo I own. My next smallest would be the ZGRT Janus, but I consider this a mini. The RSO Starship comes with a 50mm diameter.
yes.
this is one of those questions without a real answer. as far as i know, there is no standard for mini/undersized/full sized/oversized. i think it depends on the player. if you asked someone who is 6’ 4" tall with big hands, everything is undersized. whereas a shorter-statured person might think a yoyo feels small to you is just right to them.
as a community, i think there is some general guidance but no firm rule. i’m sure there are already plenty of people looking at some of these thinking “that’s not undersized” or “that’s a mini” but…yeah, it’s kind of open to interpretation.
the ones i posted feel undersize to me, based on my collection and the way they feel in the hand.
enjoy the throw my friends.

My only one is a Yomega Groov. It’s Groovy. I actually enjoy this one (responsive) but having felt higher quality throws made me start looking for something a tad nicer. My Snack will be here Friday. Pretty stoked.
Man. That color way is sick.
Yoshicuda X the member of the team that feels undersized vs the rest of my Yoyo squad. It’s a fire Yoyo and just super fun. Dunno if it’s really undersized or not but I think so, a bit at least.
Lately, I’ve been alternating between the Intro and Kamuraiju depending on my mood. Both are fantastic and share very similar specs (that 54mm diameter ) but they each have their own unique personality and play style.
As an average sized person, I have always categorized them this way:
Micro - under 40mm
Mini - 40mm - 47mm
Undersized - 48mm - 54mm
Full sized - 55mm-57mm
Oversized - 58mm+
Well since I’ve gotten The Snack, it has now become my favorite undersized yo. I put a half SPEC and 2- .01” shims to play it responsive and…just wow. I’ve now ordered another Snack to keep unresponsive. What a fantastic little yo-yo.
I am still quite fond of the Yomega Groov as well. It plays far better than reputation would recommend. At least for me with little experience to compare it to. I’m sure that if I could ever get a smaller One Drop that my opinion would shift drastically.
