What is your favorite throw that is discontinued?

Top Deck is hands down the best yoyo I own and also my favorite One Drop and generally regarded as excellent. Fat Tire is kind of a novelty. Why keep making it and NOT the Top Deck? I’m glad I own 4 Top Decks.

Yeah, I had a lot of hope they were gonna drop some good reissues in my initial post, but then I read this post and RIP my dreams.

They used to restock the Top Deck and Kuntosh 5000QV semi regularly in the past. Usually after a run was sold out a restock would be coming in a few months or so. I’m not sure what happened since then but I hope they’ll restock these yo-yos again, have been wanting to try a Top Deck for the longest time but never got one due to other yo-yos being more interesting to me.

I got my Top Deck at the end of 2019 when YYE had a decent amount in stock. Since then, I haven’t seen it restocked. I wish they would so I could get a backup.

That’s the past… like way past.

I mean… a huge terrarian drop was released in September AND October of 2021. They just dropped like 50+ of moss color terrarians… Thats 3 big drops of Terrarians within 5 months. Would it have been better to drop 50+ Kuntosh’ that hasn’t seen a release since 2019. And that release was 5 colors that were not well received (that run sat in the YYE store for a long time) and the QV hasn’t been released since 2017… Then go through and try to count how many deep state drops they’ve had within that same time frame.

I’ve already decided that I’ll be using the BST to pick up the remaining One Drop throws I want. I would rather buy direct from OD to support them, but they very clearly don’t want or need my support.

Does the Richard Runner count?

For sure that counts!

I’m pretty sure @chaosgow isn’t going to do another run of those.

I’m done with titanium. Fun yoyo though

I bought a Yoyofficer Imp waaay back in the day to be my edc. It was undersized and cheap enough that I figured I wouldn’t care how beat it got and I wouldn’t be risking something I really liked… I ended up playing that yoyo so much more than my high end ones just because it was always in reach, and I think that’s why it became one of my favorites. I wish they still made them, I’d probably have a small collection by now.

I dont Understand the whole “retired” trend. It’s a toy, a toy that people LOVE. Why not make more? Why limit that joy to limited people that were lucky enough to be throwing and had money at that particular drop.

The old saying “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” definitely applies. These “iconic” yo-yos deserved to be PLAYED and LOVED and not just remembered.

I get the whole collection aspect, but change the color, engrave it different, etc… that way the OG run still holds value.

And as someone who has ALOT of money invested into Peaks… do another 3rd run peak! I would gladly accept loosing collection value to have the chance to buy NEW 3rd run peaks retail.

For me it would have to be the G2 warthog. I know it isn’t the most popular throw of Jake’s but my oh my how I love a good hog.

Side note if anyone has a warthog for sale always feel free to hit this guy up lol, have 5 color so far always room for more

Agreed 100 percent. I know it would involve companies going back on their word, and ones word is everything which makes it so difficult for them.

I imagine if you asked them if they wanted to had they not given their word, it would be a definitive yes as they would likely generate some serious cash in doing so along with generating huge hype. Some throws would be outliers due to how difficult they were to make and that is what’s keeping them from hopping on the train to make more.

Could you imagine the hype around an identical 3rd run Peak release? Hell, make it a size A bearing so you aren’t going back on your word.

It if docpop bought the rights to Antiyo and rerealsed their entire lineup?

If ed bought the rights to SPYY?

If we did a Kickstarter to bring back the yoyonation forum (not the store out of respect for YYE)?

If we bugged yyfben2 enough to rerelease the 07 888?

If Onedrop brought back some of their retired classics, OG Project, Cabal, etc …

And the list goes on. Ernie at General yo blew my mind with bringing the Hatrick and 5 star back. Both were classics. A lot of the other companies listed above have stated they are concerned that those yoyos if the past wouldn’t sell it hold up to today’s standards. The new 5 stars and Hatricks went quick, way quicker than his new releases and that should prove a point. Nostalgia sells, look at the BST for proof.
