The Plot Armor gets my vote. Also really like the Sunbird and the Sengoku Kenshin
Well maybe because it doesnât really matter anymore. It used to matter a lot when companies were trying to put out 7075 aluminium yoyos that cost more than their 6061 counterpart, and had to sell that 7075 was better in certain ways to justify the price increase but nowadays companies are just putting out aluminium yoyos in all sorts of different aluminium alloys (7003, 7068, 7075, 6061) while charging reasonable prices, so I guess itâs just not as important now.

I definitely donât want to start a debate, but I do feel some perceivable quality difference between 6061 and 7075. Feels nicer/higher quality and is pretty objectively more durable.
That is true, itâs just that companies had to really sell and market the differences in order to justify the price hike in the past. A yoyo being made of 7075 was also seen as âbetterâ in the past, like the yoyo seems like itâs better than its 6061 counterpart, whether or not it actually is (basically 7075 just implies quality). Nowadays what aluminium alloy the yoyo is being made of is not that big of a marketing point anymore and the association that 7075 = âbetterâ or âhigher qualityâ is not really there anymore. I donât even see what aluminium alloy the yoyo is made of in a lot of reviews nowadays, itâs just a passing mention and then on to other qualities of the yoyo, but in the past, 7075 yoyos will definitely get a part saying that theyâre 7075 and more durable and are easier to distribute the weight because itâs denser and the like. The same happened when 7068 was just starting to be used in yoyos as well. But now, the aluminium alloy the yoyo is being made of is just not that important anymore, which is my point.
The alloy, if not 6061, is almost always mentioned on the sites that I visit. Manufacturers are always marketing 7075 and 7068 throws as higher-performance with more durability. The cost-difference, however, has gone down due to many factors; most of which is Chinese sourcing of materials at much lower costs.
Yes, but itâs not that important to people nowadays. Reviewers tend to gloss over the aluminium alloy the yoyo is made of, the debates of which aluminum alloy is the best have died down. People donât put the aluminium alloy that they want in their looking for recommendations posts anymore. We seem to be more focused on how the yoyo plays and feels on the string, along with its aesthetics much more than what the aluminium alloy the yoyo is made of and how durable the yoyo is. These 2 things used to be common concerns in the past, but are no longer common now.

Iâve definitely tried 7068, but I canât immediately think of any.
