My favorite bearing is any bearing that works correctly
Difeyo kks and center tracs have always been very good to me (i prefer them over 10-ball).
But last week, I bought 4 Twisted Trifectas and theyâve been great.
i just got the twisted trifecta and its definately an improvement, its great for the truly unresponsive yoyo

I use the YYJ speed bearings for most things. My favorite profiled bearing is the Crucial bearing.

Cheap Chinese 10 ball concaves go in every yoyo I throw.
I wanted to like the Crucial V2s more than I did, though. 'Still love to try a Trifecta.
Buy one of the following:
CBC Centertrak
YYF, YYJ and YYE bearings are pretty much âfactory flat bearingsâ. I need to buy a Euro C, a D and a few A-bearings in a bit to have some spares. Iâll probably go with YYJ bearings.
Anyhow, after yu get those, swap stuff arund. I donât have a favorite bearing. I do have a preference for the Terrapin X wing-cut bearings and have some in A, C and D. Some throws seem to work better with a particular bearing. For example, my Meteor and Speeder 2 seem to perform a LOT better with a KK. The Chaser played best for me with the stock bearing. My DM2âs seem to perform a bit nicer with a Terrapin X Wing Cut in them so thatâs what I have in both of mine. My Half & Half works best for me with a Crucial Grooved. I like the A-sized Centertrak in my ProZ! All my One Drops use 10-Ball bearings. Iâm happy with the General Yo AIC bearings in my Essence and KLR. Iâm probably going to put my Trifecta in my Twisted Strings Hazmat, but it plays really nice with whatever it shipped with, which was probably a One Drop 10 Ball.
If youâre into flat bearings, the Terrapin X Chrome are great. If youâre still hung on flats, the Wing Cut gives a gentle cut to the surface. This gives you the advantage of a shaped bearing by helping it center the string, but the slight cut lets the string move naturally and wonât bunch up.
I find itâs best to have bearings around to see what works best for you in a particular yoyo. Iâm usually pretty happy with stock bearings though. Iâve also been cleaning a lot of bearings recently and using the Terrapin X Dry Play treatment stuff. Wow! You can give ANY bearing the Terrapin X treatment. You do need to acetone, but itâs well worth it.
Donât waste your money on ceramics YET. If you like the âregularâ version of something, then itâs worth springing for the ceramic if you want to have a ceramic bearing. The odds are that if youâre happy with the regular, the ceramic is typically an upgrade above that.

I have to respectfully disagree about Terrapin ceramics. In most cases - I agree - ceramic is of dubious value. However, with the TerrapinX treatment the ceramic bearings take the treatment much better than the chrome. The guy that makes them agrees citing âgallingâ that occurs with steel/steel vs steel/ceramic with the Terrapin Treatment.
The Chrome bearings are not nearly as good as the ceramic. Spend the extra $5 -IMHO.
Without Terrapin treatment, however, I agree with your ceramic observations in general.

No need to buy a bearing if youâre happy with what youâve got(very important) and if youâve got no problem with your existing bearings.
Right now Iâm debating cleaning out my new Trifecta Bearing and then Terrapin X treating it⌠It already spins out of the baggie for 29 seconds on a flick. I bet with the Terrapin X Dry Play, I could get closer to 40 seconds.
how would you âterrapin xâ a bearing? i thought they were like a special bearing co. or something.
Thereâs a Terrapin âdry lubeâ that you can buy. I actually just bought a bottle myself.
Center trac. is my favorite.

I have ceramic terrapin xwing bearings for all my yoâs but a friend of mine showed me a trifecta and we put in my code 2. Dear lord have mercy on the speed that thing had. I can only imagine what would happen if terrapin made some of these with ceramic and treatment. I thought his treatment really didnât do much for regular steel ball bearings from what Iâve heard. That why all mine are ceramic. Would treating a trifecta be beneficial even though they are steel?
