Since moving to China a few months back, was always curious what yoyos they have here. Got this in the mail today:
Company’s called Auldey, some of you may have heard of them before. This one costs 25 RMB shipped which is roughly $4 USD. No idea what model this is, just picked one with the colors I liked. There are also variations of the stamped tin yoyos (a la Dollar Tree) here, tons of them. Anyways, this Auldey vibes like there’s no tomorrow and looks like the hub stacks are missing.
Just got a H5xChief, a Chik, a ball counterweight, some extra string and some stickers.
The H5xChief has been a “want” for a long time but not a desperate want since I can just play my friend’s. But when the right price came along, I couldn’t help myself.
The hybrid strings are interesting. I haven’t had long to play with them. They are pretty fat which is usually a turn off for me but I find myself drawn to them. I usually don’t like fat strings because they seem to be more grabby but I have found these to be smooth even with several layers in the gap. They are really soft on the fingers and very comfortable. I will play with them more over the next few days and see how they work in this Georgia humidity. That will be the real test.
Definitely a great week! So excited to get some 2sick throws in my case. I have been wanting a gambit for a while now. GregP reminds me how good they are every time I mention wanting one. Glad to finally have one.
